This epic fantasy open world, action-oriented, role-playing game is like a lighter version of "Skyrim," but it's not "Skyrim Lite."
Carrie Patel, ex-Game Director for Avowed, takes her expertise to Netflix's Night School after 12 impressive years at Obsidian.
The Morrowind gag is, blessedly, still in the game in a different form.
Matt Owen from Super Gamesite 64 says..."While all are serviceable, some are better than others. Make sure you pick the best companions in Avowed for the job."
but is it Skyrim Zero Sugar?!?
Just watch the comparisons between oblivion, Skyrim and Avowed...
It seems like it was rushed. Or worse, the devs didn't care.
This game has nothing to do with Skyrim...it's closer to dishonored with more rpg mechanics and not as good.
Great game imo and does 1st person combat better than most games that attempts it. Of course people will hate without ever playing it or because it’s a MS game.
I played for about 60 minutes on pc. From what I played it seemed "okay", but i ended up refunding it . I encountered a few soft lock bugs just in the tutorial section which is kinda ridiculous. The first person combat was actually really fun, but ive heard the melee option is the weakest late game so that sucks. I don't care for the story/ lore, so if I do end up buying it again when it's on sale I'll buy it mainly for the combat and roaming around for loot.
