God please let it be true, we need more remasters from ps123 , not ps4!

LoveSpuds88d ago (Edited 88d ago )

I think a GOW remastered collection is near the top of the list for me, it would be amazing if Sony went the full monty and included the handheld games and GOW Ascension too. I'd happily hand over 70 quid for a full collection like that.

Cacabunga88d ago

I don’t want a remaster id rather get a full remake as TP view

darthv7288d ago

Uhh..... they already did. So you can't play a PS3 because of why again???

Profchaos88d ago (Edited 88d ago )

Does it need to be remastered I'd be perfectly happy with gow 1/2 on the ps5 via ps2 emulation, ghost of Sparta and chain's of Olympus via PSP and gow 3 via PS4 version.

Drop all of that on plus and it would be a good way to celebrate it.

Sure there's accession missing from that but that's ok

I feel like emulation is fine for earlier consoles if done right it's just that PS3 really needs a remaster push for two main reasons.
Performance of PS3 games was spotty at best with most games failing to hold a solid 30 frames and two there's no way Sony is releasing a PS3 emulator on ps5.

LoveSpuds88d ago

I agree in general, but it would be great to have all the games at least upscaled, even better if they were remastered though.

Inverno88d ago

But it was already remastered alongside 2 in a pack, so we're Ghost and Chains. Why remaster em again?

HellspawnPR198188d ago

Because those remasters were for PS3. Bring them to moodern consoles and PC and watch the money print itself.

Inverno88d ago

Yea but that would be a port of the existing remasters, I don't think anyone would mind that. The rumour is that the first game is being remastered which wouldn't make sense. Unless they're remastering the PS4 game which would be even more stupid.

Seraphim88d ago

Money, money, money. That and probably all the children who missed it. Some of us are just old geezers at this point.

That being said, I'm mixed. I really want games like this to make a come back, but I'm beyond tired of paying for the same game 2+ times. Been there, done that, loved it, but I prefer to seek out new experiences. I guess it doesn't hurt having come off Ninja Gaiden II Black and remembering that you had to fight the camera or that this remake also dumbed downed the aesthetics of the health bar, enemy bar, etc....

ZeekQuattro88d ago

It's expected. Sony went all in on GASS and ultimately came up short. So remasters it is. 😆

GrmpyolGamer 88d ago

Yoshida even said that if you want new games you have to buy the remasters first. Sounds like they are have $$ problems. Turns out that selling more consoles doesn't mean much if the games aren't selling

Ex-PlayStation Boss Shuhei Yoshida Pushed for God of War Reboot Delay

Former PlayStation Studios boss Shuhei Yoshida saw God of War as a "problem" when he first played it, and advocated for its delay.

gold_drake43d ago

yea, its also mentioned in the documentary they did about it.

isarai43d ago

Ye, it just wasn't up to their standards, nothing wrong with that imo

Goodguy0143d ago

And it became one of my most favorite games of all time and I still like it more than the sequel.

goken43d ago

Well if a game/movie/project needs fixing, especially something with the legacy that god of war does. Delay and fix it, don’t ruin the legacy by releasing crap.

Babadook742d ago

Way to go.

Like Miyamoto famously said.

“A delayed game is eventually good, but a rushed game is forever bad.”

Where's the remaster/port of the Greek Saga?

micdagoat1958d ago

On PS3? they "remaster" games that are barely 5 years old. We can't even play the ones from PS3 natively right now on a PS5

micdagoat1958d ago

Sony has been so quiet about that its annoying. I have no idea why they wouldn't

spicelicka58d ago

As much as I love the new God of war saga, I really miss the scale and epic set pieces of the OG games :/

SonyStyled58d ago

Thank you Mr. Jaffe. Few franchises stay relevant for 20 years. Thank you Stig, and Corey too
