Interesting, as A.I. technology grows its not out of the realm of possibilities that you could ask it to replicate an old game. But I agree it’s not game preservation at all.
All this digital, in the cloud crap is so much more vulnerable than physical. Imagine, a massive viral attack that wipes out tons of data. I know that’s a long shot idea but you never lnow
Because emulation already exist, requires less processing power to work, and runs the actual flippin game. Literally just saw a video of this and let's be honest about what this will lead to in the long run, removing the human factor.
What more painful is Phil jumped into the AI shortcut bandwagon. It would have saved the soooo much money if Muse and Phil sucked everyone into it (money he can bonus on in his EOY). It categorically is not preservation and rather is a shi*y non-1:1 transfer/skin-job without the same foundation other words exactly what a collector or purest would NOT want in game.
He’s a chut. He does not get it. And this approach is tone-deaf and insulting to the preservation community and devs in support of preserving their work for future generations.
Gamers should be pretty pissed about this one, but they likely will say “oh wow this is the coolest,” then jump and start swinging from his ballz in support.
Phil is a moron on top of being a bull shitter
sure you could replicate most atari games
to replicate doom you would need to give the Ai, detailed map diagrams / all weapon animations / all enemy locations and animations / all lighting / and a bunch more
phil might be on to something we can have 14,000 different doom games, but would it be the original
but doing this with a zelda would be insane, but there's probably someone crazy enough to do it, and again could it be classed as the original game
