Xbox Showcases Will Now Have PlayStation And Nintendo Logos

Going forward, Microsoft will be showing PlayStation and Nintendo logos along with the Xbox logo during its future gaming showcases.

Sony was doing the same thing(just bits and pieces) and got exposed during the Activision Blizzard deal. As matter of fact it was one of the main reasons the deal was allowed. So every time people say they(Microsoft) are buying up whatever just remember that fact.

Game Pass isn't going to be on PlayStation. It's everywhere but. Sony won't allow it. That said, if you purchase a few Microsoft games for PlayStation you will be paying $40 to $70 for a pretty long time once they release months later on PS5. Microsoft may start releasing games on all platforms simultaneously, but not anytime soon.

There are a ton of great Microsoft games, still better off just using a PC or Xbox and Game Pass. Plus you get EA Play with GP

What are you talking about? You are arguing two different point. Wanting to know what games are exclusive to xbox and buying all the publishers and making more exclusives are two different things. People for years got tired of Microsoft saying "world premiere" and other such things, and wanted to know if the games were Microsoft exclusive. Then Microsoft started coming out with "console exclusive". People have also been saying the same thing with Sony...when you see a commercial and in the end it has the playstation branding....but comes to other systems. Drop the fanboy division tactics and at least pay attention to the comment; not need to go defense mode.

It has already happened. Doom Dark Ages will be fully supported by PS5 Pro. They are trying to sell games on other consoles, they are not going to half-ass it. They want the product to be as good as it can be.

Not yet. They still make and sell consoles. If you didn't know 3rd party is the backbone of the industry. Take away those and the industry will suffer. If you look at the industry as a whole the Xbox strategy is a smart one. By 2030 it's estimated that there will be about 4 billion gamers worldwide. If you want a bigger piece of the pie you can't do it by catering to one audience. There will never be 4 billion xbox's or playstations. Not even close. Microsoft's plan seems to be to try and service as many gamers across the board. It's not a bad strategy imo. Given their infrastructure they have the means to do it. Some may see this move as being defeated by sony which in some ways it is. It was always gonna be a uphill battle for them when it came to hardware. I think they've known this from the beginning.
But now the industry has changed. They are finding success in other ways. They aren't just looking at xbox the console anymore. They are taking the vast range of resource they have and using them to strengthen their gaming business. Sony is slowly doing the same by bringing some of their biggest games to PC which is a smart thing to do. I think it would benefit them to bring more games to xbox as well. That would be a win for them because they keep their install base, sell more games and make more money which is the bottom line for all business.

Sony isn’t doing the same. Pc isn’t a console unless Xbox is pc now. Why would you develop for a console that’s not selling and has a small user base? Third parties already have deals in place to release on all consoles but I don’t think a lot will prioritise Xbox just for the fact that it doesn’t sell as much. Instead of this spin you should encourage Xbox to do something that will make people buy their console. Oh and Xbox finding success elsewhere like you’re saying doesn’t n shouldn’t mean anything to us console gamers same as Sony’ s money don’t mean a thing. Nah, the fundamental difference that many are conveniently ignoring is that Sony is a hardware/electronics manufacturer, unlike MS. Sony is fully invested in pushing hardware and you need exclusive games for your console in order to entice people into buying your console over the competitions. It would not be business smart to place your games on rival consoles, especially ones not moving the same numbers as you.

I think their problem might be that they tried to guess what the mass market wanted ..but failed..and failed..and failed. With their most products. And after they once starting porting their games to PC..it was slowly over for the reasons to buy a xbox.

They ..or the teams they bought were never able to create another IP as big as Halo..and even that one went down by the time.

Towards the end of the 360 generation, PS3 was getting bangers after bangers. 360 had nothing, i thought they were preparing for the next gen. But during the Xbone generation it was worst. And somehow after buying tonnes of studios it got even worse this gen (until recently where things are looking up)

But by this time this gen is lost, and due to the way the consoles are, most console gamers are already with a PS and a large library there and extremely difficult to get them to move to xbox. Meanwhile MS brilliantly decided to cripple their own sales with gamepass thus ensuring that the billions they spent on buying studios won’t be recuperated unless they publish on PS.

Multiple reasons, but the main culprit was the Xbox One era.

As Phil Spencer said, it was the worst generation for MS to lose as it was a time when most folks started to build digital libraries. MS didn't have a remarkable first-party lineup. Titles that may have been interesting such as Scalebound or the Phantom Dust Remake were canceled. Games like RYSE and Crackdown 3 were mediocre at best. Where fans clamored for a new Conker, MS delivered Project Spark. Even games that have since gone on to become successful like Sea of Thieves had a very rocky start, and the incentive to join the Xbox ecosystem wasn't really there. The focus on Kinect didn't help either. MS genuinely tried to course correct, and listened, albeit a little bit too closely, to the scores of internet memes and jabs of Xbox having no games...so MS acquired a bunch of studios.

While this was a quick remedy to a glaring problem, MS was also heavily marketing Games Pass as well, a service that ostensibly gave its first-party games away for free. This wasn't enough however, and MS continued to spend its way out of a much larger problem: to purchase publishers to bolster the Game Pass library and attract players to its waning ecosystem. But all of these actions came a little too late. By the time MS was able to really secure a solid pipeline of games to its platforms, the market had already turned its back on Xbox, leaving behind its die-hard fanbase.

Without new consumers to sell Xbox consoles to, Game Pass growth remained marginal or flat. MS put itself into a corner, and even worse, it has spent nearly 100 billion dollars in the process, drawing the attention from the higher ups who had by and large ignored the Xbox side of MS. Executives wanted a return on that investment and quickly and likely ordered Xbox to go multiplatform. Without that pivot, Xbox would have collapsed under the weight of its now hefty portfolio. Yes, it's all dandy to the Game Pass subscriber, who pays $20 a month for scores of first-party titles, indies, and headline grabbing third-party games like say Persona or Yakuza, but the lack of console growth blunted Game Pass growth, a service that needed to grow exponentially in order to cover the development costs of all those first-party titles and third-party deals.

MS could have very well been able to compete, but Game Pass really hindered that. It even led to lower software sales for games not included on the service, as subscribers simply hedged their bets and waited for 'insert game title here' to eventually end up on Game Pass. That additional 30% cut that MS would have enjoyed from third-party software sales was also dwindling. All of this really created a perfect storm that put MS in the position it is now. This is why I don't buy the PR talk of this being somehow being better for the industry, or they Sony needs to follow suit, or that MS is somehow doing Sony a favor by going multiplatform. It's all designed to manufacture consent, to convince the fanbase that this is a good thing, that it will be better for them as well. When in reality, MS is not longer making decisions with its install base in mind.

Yes most of us console only gamers wanted them to put up a good fight because that competition did help and it’s just nice grabbing a switch or Xbox, ps to play a good game that can only be played on said console. Like at the moment I’m playing arrowed and enjoying it and only place I could play it is on my Xbox.

I just find it weird that so cold xbox hardcore fans were never Xbox console fans but Microsoft fans instead and have turned into pc gamers.
