The wait between early access and the full version of Wreckfest 2 is set to be much shorter than for the original.
Version 1.0 and consoles will be released sometime before 31st March 2026, according to parent company Embracer Group.
LLC: "Wreckfest 2 is a touch primitive in its current iteration, but what this has proven to me is that there’s a solid chassis underneath the beaten panels."
Wreckfest 2 is currently fairly light on content, to the disappointment to some that have been waiting for the game. A solid core and clear improvements on the physics and graphics from the original are on display now though. If you’re up for playing around in a new derby game, give it a go. But if you’re looking for a more in depth racing derby sim, give it some time to cook. It’s a near guarantee that whenever you decide to jump in, you won’t regret your decision in the end.
Wreckfest 2 is Bugbear's sequel to their 2018 racing and demolition derby game, featuring detailed environments and collision modeling.
I remember the wait from early access to full release seemed to be quite a long wait on the original. It was worth it turned out to be a great game.
