Well deserved! Stellar Blade was awesome. May double dip on the PC release.

STARS134d ago

For a mobile studio's first console game, Stellar Blade was fantastic. The visuals (and unapologetic style 😉 ), combat and boss fights were all really good. The game deserves all of the praise it gets.

Cacabunga134d ago

Stellar Blade blew my mind.. it’s so good and optimized

Army_of_Darkness134d ago

My absolute game of the year! Now playing game+ with the nier automata dlc 😁

Relientk77134d ago

Stellar Blade is amazing and my GOTY along with Astro Bot. I'm excited for the new IP this studio is working on and hopefully a Stellar Blade 2 in the future

Sabbath1313134d ago

if you finished Stella Blade you would know there is a part 2

robtion134d ago

Yes Stellar Blade was easily GOTY. I would also love a sequel but the new IP is apparently aiming for a 2027 release window so I hate to think how long it might take before we see a Stellar Blade 2.

Bathyj134d ago

Good for them.
I'm glad it shows you can make a game without having to put in on every current gen, last geen, pc, mobile, toaster and it will sell if it is good.

VariantAEC134d ago

All that before a PC release!
Will be interesting to see if PC does better worse or about the same.

fsfsxii133d ago

It’ll do worse. PC at best is auxiliary platform, you release a game on there and just hope you recover the porting cost.

The 3060 RTX Phoenix is still $430.

anast5d ago

Yes, they are. It's probably why their PC runs this game so well...

edureboucas5d ago

Yes it is, do you want me to send you my dxdiag, sir?

DeityGamingPower2d ago

The RTX 3060 released in 2021. Go back to middle school. What a dumb article.

anast5d ago

Exactly, the only thing 9 years old on that set up is probably the case.

Not shocking it was announce as a multiplatform game before Sony threw money at them.

I thankful for PearlAbyss(korean dev) rejected sony cash for CrimsonDesert, so everyone can enjoy their game.

neutralgamer19927d ago

They rejected their money so much yet they allowed them to publish the game on steam?

Please it's the year 2025 enjoy gaming without becoming attached to a box

VenomUK7d ago

‘PS5’s Stellar Blade is reportedly coming to Nintendo Switch 2’

And Xbox?

NotoriousWhiz7d ago (Edited 7d ago )

Xbox maybe 2 or 3 years after they release on Switch 2 when they can collect some game pass money cause no one on Xbox will be buying it. We see what happened with FF16.

CrashMania7d ago

They helped a lot with development to shape the game it became, it's not your typical MS throw money at the wall and hope it sticks type of deal that usually doesn't work out.

The fact it isn't being considered for Xbox should tell you all you need to know.

Elda7d ago

It's a Shift Up game so they can put it wherever they want once the PS5 exclusivity is up.

darthv727d ago

....like xbox, you know since it was first announced that way.

Elda7d ago

Sony spent money & got first dibs, maybe XB should have leaped first or is it possible that had no interest.

CantThinkOfAUsername7d ago

PlayStation is still the publisher of the game on PC.

ABizzel17d ago

Makes sense, a Nintendo release will help with sales in JP and at worse add a few hundred thousand sales globally.

720p@60fps medium-low upscaled to 1440p DLSS docked
&
540p@60fps medium-low upscaled to 1080p DLSS handheld

Should be possible without any issues.

Notsofast7d ago

probably get the game to 5-6 million copies sold if its on the switch 2

andy857d ago

Given the steam version is already in the millions the switch 2 version should easily do that

Profchaos7d ago

Dlss is magic after playing street fighter 6 on switch 2 it's impressive

fsfsxii6d ago

Impressive input lag you mean

Profchaos6d ago (Edited 6d ago )

@fsfsxli they have approved sf6 on switch 2 for competitions if the input lag was actually a problem they would not have approved it

Hereandthere7d ago

Good, another 3rd party game sony paid to keep xbox players from playing. Lets hope the xbox port is not far off after switch.

Scissorman7d ago (Edited 7d ago )

this partnership was so much more than sony paying to keep xbox players from playing it:

https://twistedvoxel.com/st...

the game wouldn't have become what it is today without sony's support.

darthv727d ago

you know... we have been told that before, plenty of times. That excuse does not work anymore.

BLow7d ago (Edited 7d ago )

Don't worry the delusion is real with these fanboys. Not one person is this comment section mentioned that Tencent bought a 20% stake in Shift Up. Where's the outrage in that? Sony pays for and funds a game to be exclusive and to help develop. Bring out the pitch forks.

MS buys 2 publishers, one of them being the biggest in the industry, crickets. The math ain't mathin. Shift Up is a 3rd party company and they can do what they want. It's always been that way. I have no sympathy for the richest company in the world.

No disagrees from me. There is no point lol.

tay87016d ago (Edited 6d ago )

After the pathetic sales of FF16 on xbox, shift up probably isnt all that keen on making a port for xbox.

Stellar Blade Story Is Weak Admits Shift Up ; Planned Story DLC Shifted to Sequel

Even Shift Up admits Stellar Blade's story isn't the best, and also confirmed the in-development story DLC has now been shifted to the sequel.

Rangerman12088d ago (Edited 8d ago )

Good to see the devs acknowledge it. Thoguht the gameplay was fun but I could really care less for Eve or any of the characters. Hopefully the sequel will give Eve actual personality.

AnonymousG6d ago

How could you hate Eve? She is literally the main character of the game!

jznrpg8d ago

I thought it was a decent enough but there is room for improvement for sure. There were a few good side quest stories hidden in there, so hopefully they add more of those in the next game.

I like devs who are self critical. That means they want to be better so they can make a better game and that’s music to my ears. .

raWfodog8d ago

Somehow I don’t think the majority of players were buying the game for the story.

IAMRealHooman7d ago

i thought plot was the sound her ass makes when she walks

Armaggedon7d ago

Maybe thats true, but thats okay. Strength exists because of weakness, and vice versa.
