Boyes has been talking to Gamertag Radio host Danny Peña recently - and when asked about Microsoft's new strategy, the former Sony employee had some interesting things to say. Boyes spoke about "the game landscape changing" - and that "they [Microsoft] were Blockbuster" and over time "they became Netflix".
PlayStation executive Herman Hulst says that the company is "thoughtful" about bringing first-party franchises to other platforms.
They have no choice. Their market share is shrinking and they are in it for the money
A few years or maybe a generation from now, everything will be at best, a timed exclusive (other than Nintendo and some PC titles).
If PS puts 1st party games on any other platform guess what ima do!?!?! Nothing lol. I dnt really care.
PlayStation has added a whopping 56 games to its PlayStation Cloud Gaming catalogue.
There are some big titles in the list, including Forza Horizon 5.
And this is right after they removed Resistance 1 & 2! Does anyone realize this?
(I tried to add it as a posting, but it was old news by the time I realized it)
Playstation cloud gaming? Wasn’t that PS Now until it merged with PS plus….
Can someone tell me what’s going on?
I don’t understand cloud gaming. I’ve tried them all. Ps5, Portal, ROG Ally, XB cloud and no matter what I do I just can’t play the games because of the lag and artifacting that breaks immersion.
I have 1gb fiber that was freshly installed as well.
Local remote play works pretty good from PS and XB but strictly streaming the whole game from the cloud has been a mediocre experience for me and definitely not worth the higher cost sub.
Battle Engine Aquila joins PlayStation Plus Premium.
Another meh month and only 1 single classic wtf Sony. I was hoping after the price hikes for PSN we might get a good month spoonful of sugar makes the medicine go down and all that
Maybe I’ll go check out battlefield 5 again.
Maybe this will give a little boost
Some of the best psvr 2 titles leaving, nothing coming, way to support your psvr 2 owners. Still, I don't mind the games coming personally.
They had no choice but to pivot to what you are seeing now. Good for them and good for Playstation gamers.
They didn't become netflix, let's talk when they do.
So what's the point of exclusives anymore lol. It's like Nintendo saying ok MS and Sony will be getting Mario and Zelda.
Anyone with common sense knew MS was going fully fledged multi-platform, the only ones that were in denial are the XB fanatics. XB cannot sell games on its own platform they need PS & Nintendo to do that. I won't be buying any XB games to play on my PS5 Pro. I'll play any of the new incoming releases that look interesting to play on my XBSX through GP like the rest of the XB owners...lol.
The difference is exclusives are almost non existent on Xbox. MS used the excuse to say Sony wasn't their competitor. Now they are going multiplatform due to trying to pay off the Activision acquisition. Difference with Netflix there's exclusives. Same with other streaming services.
Now they push the narrative that everything is going to be non consoles in the future and no exclusives as well as rising costs.
It's like they are a "expert" in this aspect of the industry. Least Sony is keeping exclusives to some degree despite PC.
Nintendo is most console of the lot and they're doing better than the lot.
