Does anyone really care at this point? NVIDIA has managed to completely suck the life out of PC and gaming. They are not the only one sucking the life out of the PC mind you, Microsoft with Windows has their fair share of the blame. Everything seems to be getting more expensive and worse for the user to the point the only way to win is to not participate and find a cheaper hobby.

Dramatics aside. You know you aren't required to have the highest end thing every time to keep up with modern gaming right? Especially in an age with upscaling technology. It's why I went with a 4070ti super, it'll get me through the next five years or more, and after credit and selling my previous GPU I only spent $430 on it. Handles every game I throw at it with ease. As for Windows, Linux has become a viable option in many cases even better for titles older than I am. The hobby is only as expensive as you're willing to let it be, how you handle your money and options is up to you.

buy a 5070ti or something like that. Still amazing performance at a fraction of the cost. Nobody said you had to buy the Ferrari of GPUs.

How have you come to that conclusion? Nvidia have been pushing PC graphics forward to a level AMD can't hope achieve.

5090 is an enthusiast product with no competition. Thats why they’re able to price it so high. You should direct your complain against their competitor AMD thats not even slightly close to make a competing card. Also, you’re crazy if you’re buying a 5090 just to game on it.

Few more days then I can at least put in an order, problem is I got a two week wait for when I do as it's going in a custom build... Still, this time next month I should have it.

Going for a i9 14900k 64gb with the RTX5090, would have gone for the 5080 if it wasn't for the 16gb.

What's wrong with 16GB? It's 16GB of GDDR7. Unless you're aiming for 8K resolution in games.
Also 64GB of RAM? Do you video edit or 3D model for a living cause if it's just for gaming then that's overkill.

MrDead90d ago (Edited 90d ago )

I do large format image editing, I have 32gb now and have to micromanage that when working. I have a 20,000 dpi scanner.

As with 16gb, you can already bust that now gaming in 4k with a few mods active, it's just not very future proof.

Shiore2u90d ago (Edited 90d ago )

@MrDead Ah I see, then yea 64GB makes sense. I can see 16GB being a limitation if you've got like an insane amount of visual mods for Skyrim, tho that's more due to the limited nature of the gamebryo engine. For your average game, I can't say I see it as a limitation just yet, vanilla or otherwise. Give it a few more years then I'd agree. Took almost a decade for 8GB to reach the breaking point.

I'm waiting to see if they do a 5080 super with extra VRAM, which they probably will, I'm also the type to keep PC parts for 5 years plus at a time, even the GPU. So I wouldn't want to change it out anytime soon unless there was a significant leap in tech.

PRIMORDUS90d ago

$2,000 is pure greed, Nvidia can sell it for less and still make a profit, pretty disgusting from a company worth now $3.61 trillion.

Digital Foundry sucking NVIDIA balls again. They Will get RtX 5090 for free just like they all got the 4090s.

AvP on the Jag was pretty ambitious for the time. I always wondered what a smoother (faster) frame rate would have done for that game. nice to see a spiritual sequel is in the works after all these years.
