They deserve it, Days Gone didn't set the world on fire but it was a solid first outing for Bend on the PS4 and I'd like to see an improved more refined sequel especially after that cliffhanger ending.

Journalists were super harsh with this one considering how much s*** they let slide with other games, they never really liked this the moment it was revealed, it always felt it couldn't do anything to sway their opinion so when they played that review version without the Day One patch they just gave them a bigger, more justified reason to slaughter it.

The simple fact that it was a PS4 game and could handle the hordes was monumental.

I plat'd it because it was so satisfying. One of the few studios that makes their achievements enhance the game.

I just ignored the reviews. The game was very good.

Yeah the hordes is something that I've not seen replicated in an AAA Zombie like game, it felt like you actually had to plan things out and be strategic about it. I was hoping a sequel with better technology would have improved on this and made it even better.

Would have been nice aswell to expand the Bike customization and upgrades to other vehicles which would have totally allowed you to chose a playstyle that fit you best. Do you want to stick to a Bike that allows you to get into smaller gaps and glide through areas without ease or do you want something a bit bigger that will allow to smash through enemies on the road and possibly even get you through some areas quicker by running through fences/walls or getting up steep hills off-road.

They should rehire Ross and Garvin if they do a Days Gone sequel

Their next game will be on PS6 so yes I agree DG2 could be a day one launch and get the benefit of having that tech and specs

first impressions matter. when i bought it, it was the messiest game ive ever played.

it was riddled with bugs and glitches and it made me wonder why it was even released and sold in that state.
it might be ok now but damn was it a mess when it came out.

i feel like alot of people forget that fact.

@gold_drake
I played it day one and only had 2 bugs. Mototcycle sound not playing 100% of the time and 2 head floating in the air. (Guards at first camp).
I platinumed it and no other glitches or bugs. So "riddled".... Well not for me and many others...
So nothing to forget.

It was rough and certainly flawed. But man it was such a good foundation for a sequel. huge potential!

Reminder that Sony Bend also pitched a Syphon Filter and Resistance reboot. Sony, in response, rejected them in favor of making them work on a live service game.

Syphon Filter over the grease monkey.

Herman Hulst rejected them
He is behind all the push for GaaS BS.

Is he somehow independent of Sony?
