I love the comments about the heels. That immediately looked off to me. I think the premise is interesting, but I don’t think this studio has the chops to pull it off.

Abriael99d ago

They likely don't, but they have been playing console fanboys really skillfully to get a lot of visibility that otherwise they wouldn't get.

Chocoburger99d ago (Edited 99d ago )

Look up the games this studio has made before, and you'll see why this is nothing to get excited over. They spend about 2 years rushing out broken games, and moving on to the next haphazard project.

Code Violet won’t come out on PC due to the fear of vulgar mods

TeamKill: "For those asking us about a PC version of Code Violet… the reason we are not bringing it to PC is we do not want anyone modding vulgar versions of the main character as well as other characters in the game.

We hold our voice actresses and actors with high regard, as well as our artistic vision for the game and story and reject any form of destroying that with sexual mods.

Making a joke out of our art and possibly tarnishing the reputation of our voice actresses and actors is not worth the extra money we can make."

Chocoburger98d ago

lol, what a pathetic excuse. But it doesn't even matter anyway, look up the history of their games, watch videos, look at Metacritic, and you'll see their games aren't even worth your time.

All previous PlayStation consoles have modded games, include nude patches, translation patches, balance fixes, soundtrack changes, etc. Eventually PS5 will be the same way, but no one is going to give a crap to mod your forgettable game.

Army_of_Darkness95d ago

Regardless of their history, this game has potential and looks pretty awesome so far.

CrimsonWing6996d ago

Y’all need to get over that sh*t.

Regardless of if the game was on PC people will make art and CG vids of this regardless and to be real, your character design is not that f*cking hot to worry about this. The game looks budget and you should want all the sales you can get.

For better or for worse, lewd mods can actually add to sales, so there’s absolutely no reason to die on a hill over this. People can get the game emulated on PC and mod it that way. You only hurt yourself doing this and quite frankly, this is just so ridiculous of a thing to make this kind of a decision over.

Inverno96d ago

Congrats, you played yourself. An open invitation to all the rule34 artists on the internet to draw porn of your game characters.

From200896d ago

But it's also not coming out on Xbox, huh.

Christopher96d ago

Oh, look, people who typically complain about censorship being forced on developers now complaining about a developer making their own decision on how they want their game to be made.

StarcrossedBits96d ago

How is one thing related to the other at all? There's zero aspect of censorship in their decision.

I get that your favorite thing is to complain about 50% of the people who keep you employed but maybe chill out man.

Christopher96d ago

People who complain about censorship also want censorship. That's the point.

jambola96d ago

apparently "I want this on more platforms" is censorship now lmao
this person is an admin here too, which really shows why n4g is the way it is

JEECE96d ago (Edited 96d ago )

The idea is that it's ironic for people who complain about developers being pressured to change their games (or any artistic endeavor, such as music or movies) to appease governmental/corporate/cultura l sensibilities to then turn around and criticize developers for not releasing their game on a specific platform due to concerns with how their art will be treated on that platform.

The second thing isn't really censorship, but it's the related concern of respecting the autonomy of an artist to do what they want with their art (in this case respecting devs to do what they want with their game).

Basically the idea is if you don't want devs to have to change their game to appease a government or a larger corporate publisher, you also shouldn't pressure them to release their game on a platform where they don't think it will be treated with respect by the users of that platform.

It's an okay argument, but it was delivered poorly and the attempt to shoehorn it into a "censorship" concern is pretty hamfisted.

VariantAEC90d ago

@jambola
You now want the developers to do something they don't want to do. You don't understand that they just don't want to put their game on PC and this upsets you, but it is their choice.

VariantAEC90d ago (Edited 90d ago )

@JEECE
"...it was delivered poorly and the attempt to shoehorn it into a "censorship" concern is pretty hamfisted."
This is where we disagree. Censorship can include things that in this case the developers don't want users to do with their content. This is what is happening by not releasing on the platform that offers the greatest ability to modify game contents. This can of course be done almost as easily on a console so long as the console is already modified or otherwise able to accept unsigned code.
But either way we can argue this is censorship and that in this case the devs don't want users to mod their games. It is their intent and it is why they see PC as inferior platform for their releases and if these PC gamers really didn't care they wouldn't be dissing these games becoming console exclusive.

Modding is a minority use case on PC not everyone does it and not all mods are the same level of depth. Some would consider graphics options in the menus as mods just to bolster the idea that everyone customizes their experience on PC, while others only consider [added too early] new content to be a "mod," but not editing ".ini" files even though such changes aren't available to users in the game.

What’s being censored?

I don’t think they’re censoring anything in their game. This is a decision to keep modders from making mods they don’t approve of. Again, they’re not censoring anything in their game, they’re “protecting” their work from unauthorized modifications because… well, you already know.

Christopher96d ago (Edited 96d ago )

You're complaining they're not doing what you want them to do, which would be censorship if they did. But you don't get that. You just think developers should do what you want, but you call it censorship when you think they're forced to do something you disagree with but not censorship when you tell them to do something else.

jambola96d ago

Are you saying you've noticed it with specific people? like person a complaining about both?
or are you one of those people who thinks the internet is one person, and don't understand it's multiple people with varying opinions

and no.........complaining about them not releasing on pc is not censorship, that's so fucking stupid lmao

not to mention, most people are just mocking them more than anything, or critiscising their dumb reasons

Christopher96d ago

You do realize their desire to not deal with mods they don't want people to make for their game is the element of censorship. And, yes, the people here are people who complain about censorship hypocritically and on the other end complain when devs are 'forced to change their game' but when they come out and do exactly what they want it's 'oh, you're dumb'.

Either you respect what the developer wants or you don't. People obviously just want what they want and use censorship as an excuse when they want to.

CrimsonWing6996d ago (Edited 96d ago )

@Christopher doesn’t know what censorship is and I don’t know why he’s getting all unhinged over people calling out their decision when it won’t prevent people from making lewd content of the game… which looking at the character, I can’t see why they’d want to, but I ain’t judging.

They can emulate the game and add mods. Everything out there has some type of lewd content… so I don’t see why you’d make this decision. And hasn’t nude mods been a thing since mods became a thing? Why is it such a big deal now?

And @Christopher explain to me what’s being censored. Preventing people from making changes and alterations to an original piece of work is called “preservation” not censorship. The creators aren’t altering their work due to social demands. They’re preventing people from altering it 🙄.

Can you please stop being stuck on stupid over this?
