PS5 vs Xbox Series X|S Sales Comparison - November 2024

November 2024 is the 49th month the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S has been available for. In the latest month, the gap grew in favor of the PlayStation 5 when compared to the aligned launch of the Xbox Series X|S by 3.35 million units.

In the last 12 months, the PlayStation 5 has outsold the Xbox Series X|S by 13.18 million units. The PlayStation 5 is currently ahead by 36.49 million units.

- Xbox Tech guy: Hi, Phil, we can make two Xbox Series, one with a more available chip and no disk drive, so it can be hundred of dollars cheaper than the big one, that will only have top of the wafer line chips and faster RAM. This way, every game will run without any change, only resolution and Ray Tracing… really, nothing +90% of people will notice when playing, at least, for next 4 or 5 years. BTW, developers will not have to make any extra work to fit the game on any Xbox and we will sell a lot more hardware that, other way, would go to trash can (or AMD would use it for lower end Chinese branded PCs).
- Xbox Marketing Team guy: Well, why don’t we make it the cheaper one cheaper, but sell it at a bigger gain… maybe with less RAM?
- Phil: The cheapest manufacturing option with the highest profitability will be. You have a salary increase, marketing guy… and me too! Hahaha! (Look at that freak, how he looks at us... hahaha, he only knows about chips and stuff like that.)
