Still with the 16bg? Nvidia is just too dominant, it's the only reason they can get away with this and the pricing.

ZycoFox166d ago

It's probably "good enough" for a few years, Nvidia have a habit of giving you just enough if anything below the very top card these days.

Jingsing165d ago

There literally isn't any future proofing an NVIDIA card, They just add new "must have" features that your previous gen card can't do.

PRIMORDUS165d ago (Edited 165d ago )

What can probably hurt Nvidia is that all the tech. youtubers, like Gamers Nexus, JayzTwoCents, etc. the ones that have millions of subs, just bash them and make you not want to buy their GPUs. To the point where Nvidia would really feel it. This should also spread to other sites like WCCFTECH, Tom's Hardware, TechPowerUp, PC World etc. This would put some hurt on Nvidia, and if they lost money good for them. They have enough, damn rich greedy fucks.

Jingsing165d ago

Those Youtubers were part of the problem for the longest time, they would keep making video pr0n from the free gpu's they would get sent without of real sense of the cost. Now you have a bunch of new upcoming ones who just use their adsense money to do it instead.

Furesis165d ago

Actually those help them lol, it's an add at the end of the day. For example i'm using youtube and i get recommended one of these videos. Before that i wasn't even thinking/cared of buying anything new but now i'm thinking about it, the seed has been planted, now im looking for a new GPU for example and i dont even realistically need one.

rakentaja166d ago (Edited 166d ago )

No competition. They even raise the price and give you the same amount of memory.
Be thankful that the card has 16GB instead of 12GB, with "HAHAHAHHAHAHAHA" written underneath in small font.

FinalFantasyFanatic165d ago

12GB would just doom that card, games from more than a few years were already starting to use 12GB plus. This card isn't going to have many years of longevity before games start exceeding its 16GB limit.

Shiro173165d ago

Ya do understand is 16gb of gddr7 right?

cluclap165d ago

That's not the point. If I'm paying 1500+ for a gpu I would want it to have some sort of future proofing. There are already games on the market that hit the 16gb ceiling, I don't expect the card to run future ps6 games at high settings, but at that price point it would've been at least 24gb. This will give more overhead. It's 2025, if next gen starts in 2028 at the minimum those games are going to require 16-24 gb by that time. So you mean to tell me all I get out of a $1500-$2000 card is 3 years?

Shiro173165d ago

Current cards are GDDR6..... 16g of GDDR7 Is like having 28g to 32g of Gddr6....

lucasnooker165d ago

I’ve had my PC for 10 years. Bought a Titan X pascal in 2016 and on a i7 5930k. It’s lasted me all of this time but now I’m about to finally bite the bullet and get a 9800x3D and a 5090! :D

FinalFantasyFanatic165d ago

My PC is getting on in years too, I don't want to replace that 1080ti yet, especially with the price of GPUs, but I'll probably need that GPU upgrade within a few years. I think I'll replace my entire PC at the 10 year mark, or close enough to it.

lucasnooker165d ago

Well I just noticed I can’t play Indiana jones and this is the first game in history I haven’t physically been able to boot the game because of my hardware. It’s only going to get worse from here…. It’s time…

FinalFantasyFanatic162d ago

I'm not interested in Indiana Jones myself, but I'm normally 2 years behind when it comes to playing AAA games, but I am starting to bump up against the 1080ti's VRAM limits, I can probably hold off a little longer if I have to (just lower the details a little). Hopefully, GPU prices will be a bit more reasonable in 2 or 3 years.

DivineHand125165d ago

That looks to be a massive jump in performance. It is also the best type of upgrade where you will truly see the difference.

CDbiggen164d ago

Will definitely upgrade to a 9800x3D this year.

phatak165d ago

only ones to blame for amd and intel tbh, all they have to do is compete with a similar quality product at the top end, instead they have raised the white flag and said they simply wont compete at the high end, really sucks for anyone looking for the best of the best .

Killa78165d ago

To an extent... AMD had something at the top end this time, the 7900xtx, but also made it prohibitively expensive.

If they re-release that for half the price, they may be onto a winner.

XBManiac164d ago (Edited 164d ago )

Not really. AMD can launch right now, in Q1 2025, a 3nm updated RDNA4 hardware with chiplet design that will cost a fraction of a 7900XTX and 24GB of VRAM. I'd not be surprised if Radeon RX 9070XT is a 24GB, RDNA4 card with 2 slot design and the same raster performance of a Radeon 7900XT, but 4x the Ray Tracing, as well as added AI electronics, with some kind of next gen specs that will be a presentation of what AMD UDNA will be in 2026. Power consumption is one of my concerns with what NVIDIA will bring... and it can help AMD this time.

XBManiac164d ago

To compete at the high end, AMD'd need to sell a 2000$ card... Would you buy it, if you have an NVIDIA card at the same price? AMD needs to wait until UDNA is ready, with their chiplet design, new architecture, mature 3rd gen X3D and Unreal 6 already shown.

SPEAKxTHExTRUTH165d ago

And this is why there can NEVER be only ONE console maker. Let this be a lesson to all the console fanboys who only want ONE console on the market. Nvidia has no competition and look how they treat their customers. Over priced cards that still rely on up scaling to get better performance/visuals. BTW I have $2500 saved for the 5090 smh lol

TheColbertinator165d ago

I think everybody would be a lot happier if only Microsoft was making consoles. Nintendo can become a 3rd party publisher and Sony would go back to making only TVs or something.

MDTunkown165d ago

You don’t like ps5 pro price ?

Marathon Development Update

Marathon was slated to launch on Sept. 23, 2025 across Xbox, PC, and PlayStation, but Bungie will share the new release date in the fall.

Jin_Sakai17h ago

Probably best just cancel it. The game has flop written all over it.

-Foxtrot21h ago

Yeah, you can delay it as much as you want but you ain’t gonna wash that stink off.

Killer2020UK19h ago

It will lessen though and possibly make all the difference if it launches in a state that rectified a lot of the issues people had with it. A LOT of ifs of course.

RaidenBlack17h ago

If you really gotta play ... play the better extraction shooter this year : ARC Raiders

ZeekQuattro20h ago

Delaying the inevitable. Bungie hoping the negative publicity will blow over. 🙄

darthv7220h ago

They can't cancel it until a themed controller has been released first... like concord.

ZeekQuattro16h ago

I anxiously wait for that and a Marathon Secret Level episode.

GamingManiac13h ago

$10 says it'll have the stolen artwork on it lolol

dveio20h ago

If they were absolutely certain about the quality of Marathon, then they had not delayed it just now.

So they've basically just confirmed what everyone, well, a lot of people saw: Marathon is not ready yet, still no soul to be seen.

Tacoboto19h ago

"Doubling down on the Marathon Universe"

They're doubling down on soul, thank goodness this feedback illuminated that for them...

RaidenBlack17h ago

and N4G was littered with comments like : Marathon looks really good, maybe you're a hater and the likes blah blah ... especially under articles which compared it with Arc Raiders ....
