STALKER 2 Dev Reveals No Current Plans For A PS5 Port

Game World Game Director revealed in an interview with Tech4Gamers that there are currently no plans for a PS5 Port, and they are fully focused on developing (and now supporting) the PC and Xbox Series X/S versions.

Of course they said this. If they have a contract with Microsoft and I believe it's for 3 months???? They can't just go oh yer we have a ps5 version releasing in a few months.

I think the bloober team said the same thing with the medium. No plans for a playstation version then once the exclusive time was up and done oh yer we are releasing a ps5 version.

Suppose to be 3 months 3 years ago. I personally think they feel some sorta loyalty towards MS. Helping them and their team get through near impossible development. Who knows, I think it'll happen still it could be a year or 6 months tops.

Oh yer If that's the case I don't have a issue with that personally. I do believe it will release in 2025 on ps5. Maybe towards the end of the year once they have optimized the game a bit more.

yeah these statements are just not helpful, if they got a ps version releasing soon, they won't say it anyway if they're under contract.

It's always been the same.

"Can't comment!" to not cannibilize sales on the timed exclusive platform. And, of course, due to contractual bindings.

Happy for them their game has been a success, although I haven't ever really followed the Stalker franchise.

Only catched it sadly suffered a lot of bugs at launch. Which ain't no good for any timed exclusive.

It's a good game but I enjoyed Indiana Jones a lot more

One is more Adventure focused and restricted and other is geared towards exploration.
The latter will always be more prone to bugs and nuances

I agree but Indiana Jones is more than semi open world and has a lot of side missions that flows with the main story. It's just a better game overall imo. My issue with Stalker 2 is that they're better exploration games out there. It nothing unique or memorable about Stalker 2. I still can remember Indiana Jones whip that was very useful to explore and the game is better than some of the movies. Indiana jones might be better than Uncharted and Tomb Raider even though it's in first person view, but it turns into third-person in certain sections in the game like climbing up ladders. It's definitely debatable

I mean, the game already cleared the development costs by a large margin. Not even accounting for the Gamepass deal. In talks of a TV deal with Netflix, planned expansions. I think GSC is doing just fine, no matter what they choose to do.

Promise you all it'll be coming to PS5- but the contract Microsoft signed with them and spend the money on prohibits the dev from talking about other platforms. The same dev just came out and claimed there are advantaged the xbox has over PC..... I think we all know what kind of rhetoric we're looking at here. In a few months youll get a PS5 release - the dev wont leave millions of dollars on the table for long.

They probably want to fix most of the bugs in the game before they announce they are porting it to PS5.
