Man, the screen is massive if true. I was hoping so, I've really been enjoying my Playstation Portal & its huge screen.

Nobody puts handhelds in their pockets anymore. I like this newer trend of just making a larger portable you can still comfortably throw in a backpack. It's better on us aging gamers, no longer are they just aimed at kids anymore.

Edit- I still hate the JoyCons. I can't wait to see what 3rd party manufacturers like Nyxi create.

gold_drake176d ago

i always hated the small screens of nintendos handhelds. never understood it.

i mean i guess i do but still haha.

Eonjay176d ago

Total agree on the JoyCon's. I would prefer a joycon that was more like the Portal controller.

I know it works, but I wish every company would stop following the Apple model. This has been ready for at least a year and they held off to sell stock. There clearly won't be an OLED display so they can use it as an excuse to get people to upgrade yet again 3 years down the line.

Not enough of an upgrade to get excited about very similar to what we have now

nice improvement to the clarity. Really makes everything look less blurry, especially in the distance.

really hope we see more free improvements like this on Switch 1 games.

Jin_Sakai21h ago

First game I played on Switch 2. Much sharper and cleaner image compared to the original.

Cacabunga5h ago

I won’t be able to notice difference unless both versions are side by side

Snookies1220h ago

A lot of games that have no official Switch 2 update already run WAY better just from the hardware itself. It's fantastic getting to play all these games in a much better state. So glad I hardly played any of my Switch collection over the years, lol. This will make experiencing them for the first time so much better.

Levii_9220h ago

A nice resolution upgrade to one of my fav games but i’m still not buying the Switch “2”

darthv7219h ago(Edited 19h ago)

This and Mario/Bowser are ones I will pop in later. I hope other devs offer some patches, like xenon racer on SW1 is 30fps and it really is better at 60.

Goodguy0119h ago(Edited 19h ago)

Great it was 60 frames on switch 1 though. Definitely sacrificed resolution however.

Neonridr18h ago

I mean it targeted 60 on the Switch 1, but it wasn't always solid.

GhostScholar17h ago

I’ll never know why fans let Nintendo get away with not competing graphically and never putting their games on sale.

Chard14h ago

Unfortunately the games are fun. They’ve got us by the balls

GhostScholar13h ago

I’m a fan of their exclusives as well but if the hardware had the same capabilities as the x and ps5 and I could have all the third party stuff plus the Nintendo exclusives it would be my main console

Neonridr2h ago

@GhostScholar - if the Switch 2 had the same capabilities as the X and PS5 it would cost over $1000 and the battery would last for 5 minutes.
