In an interview in Edge issue 405, Hamaguchi discussed the impact of Yoshinori Kitase, director of the original Final Fantasy 7 and producer of the remakes, stating that while he was more than willing to take Kitase's advice and perspective on board, FF7R would not be a game designed by committee.
Ex-Bethesda designer Bruce Nesmith explains that The Elder Scrolls 6 likely won't offer deeper stats, but deeper choices.
This means they will likely be more open-ended decisions; speed runners may be in for a treat.
I'll believe it when I see it. I also don't feel Bethesda games are stat intensive as it is, though. It seems pretty basic.
Aren't RPGs SUPPOSED to be stat heavy? So are they leaning even more away from being an RPG? Ugh ☹️
Original Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion designer Bruce Nesmith discusses the new Oblivion Remastered project, and how amazing it truly is.
If this guy was floored, the bar has been set comically low. The thing barely works.
Some of the best PS5 games are exclusives like God of War Ragnarok and Astro Bot, but there are some indie highlights as well.
Whatever their design philosophy is, don't change it. That dream team is firing on all cylinders.
Yeah especially not if there’s a certain infant on the committee
More people need to buy Rebirth and support it.
Main reason why FF7 Rebirth was taken away from cyberconnect
I like a lot of the design of Rebirth but I have frustration with the execution.
All the world intel flashes on screen and you have no control for so long and it happens so frequently, in effect all it does is remind you that you haven't checked all the boxes yet, similar to me how battle passes keeps getting shown to you to remind you that you COULD pay for the full pass, but that's not necessary for a game like this. By making all the quests just on a post board and a list in the menu the organic feeling is gone and it all feels vary manufactured.
Also the dungeons often feel too long and some are there just because there's "supposed to" be a dungeon at the end of this area. Animations and interacting with objects also feel slow and stiff, Red picking up something comes to mind as an example.
