If you’re looking for comparisons to the ps5 sales, in 2023 the ps5 sold on average about 40,000 units a day - that’s 280,000 per week. The sales have only increased in 2024 as supply became more available.

This isn’t the huge win it sounds like. In fact, for all of the supply they claim, I expected this number to be higher, even tho I also assume only diehard ps players are gonna pony up for this - but fheees a lot of them.

Except its outselling ps4 pro currently, in the same time frame and its almost double the cost. Id say those are great sales numbers for Sony and higher end consoles as a whole. I personally don't want to ever see $300-$400 consoles again, it stifles performance and innovation. $400 in today's economy gets you nothing, so why are we demanding our technology be tied to an arbitrary number.

That's true but it is an optional console after all. I didn't expect it to move huge numbers simply because of the price. To be outselling the PS4 Pro at double the price is unexpected to me personally.

All consoles are optional to be fair, but yes, 78K is pretty damn high for a high end release of a console that plays the same games at its current size and price in Japan.

It's pretty impressive no matter which way you square it.

Has Sony released their expectations/projections for the Pro console? I'm sure they would be happy if it sells around the same amount of units as the PS4 Pro. That would be twice the amount of turnover for Sony as the last gen pro release. They might even be making more money per unit aswell vs the last gen pro.

I'd say things are looking promising for the PS5 Pro regardless of its price. It's early days but if Sony advertises this console correctly they could push millions of units. Sony in the past have done well with advertising so i think the amount of units they sell will be determined by how much and how well they advertise.
