Cool trailer, I think this is supposed to be very short, unless I'm thinking of another fan project.

I wonder what Valve have done or are going to do with Source 2 for their next games, heavily upgrade it for the visuals to push forward? Skip to Source 2.5 or 3? HL2 was super interactive compared to everything else at the time, if they can do that + more (rumoured) as well as make the game a graphical showcase then it's going to be an exciting time for fans of the series.

This is the prologue demo ... not the full project and is developed in UE5.
Source 2 is currently powering CS2 and Deadlock. Valve is more focused towards a stable modern engine for better gameplay than pure graphical showcase.
Both CS2 and Deadlock are immensely popular even at their alpha stage.

Valve, you don’t get to sue and shut this down unless you go make it yourselves.

Well technically its Half Life 2: Episode 3

It's sad that Valve and Gaben can't be bothered to do this themselves but I'm glad this is being made I hope Black Mesa also ends up finishing the Xen levels too.

Wonder how soon, or even if, Valve puts a C&D on it? That and/or buy it while acting like they've been working on it all along.

Lon3wolf2684d ago

They didn't stop Black Mesa from being developed, but you never know.

Even if they issue a cease and desist, it won't stop it from happening. Valve had a decade, the lead writer of HL posted how HL3 was going to be essentially confirming it won't be coming. Let the fans finish what Valve won't

Ummm ya it would stop it lol. Property is property lol
