Virtua Fighter may soon be punching its way back into the public eye.
SEGA has big plans for Virtua Fighter in 2025, and one of these is to re-create the community, participate in EVO and more.
That would be great, also now that it looks we're near the post-woke era, it could be a good time for a Dead or Alive return too, Stellar Blade proves things are quite different now compared to 2019 when DOA6 was released.
Post-woke? Not even, homie. Stellar Blade is the exception, not the future and even that ended up being censored by SONY. Asia might not play by the western rules but SONY will force em to censor whatever the west doesn't deem fit.
It's not only Stellar Blade, games like Marvel Rivals, Space Marines 2 or The First Descendant are doing great which use "stereotypical" males/females, This year tons of pro woke games like DA Veilguard, Banishers, SW Outlaws, Life is Strange DE, concord, dustborn, etc did really badly in terms of sales, same with movies like Joker 2, war of rohirrim, borderlands, almost every disney movie did badly, or shows like she-hulk, the acolyte, etc. That's why Walmart, Coors, Ford, John Deere, Lowe's, Harley-Davidson, Toyota, Amazon, Meta or Microsoft have announced that they're either downsizing or eliminating the DEI departments with thousands of layoffs. I said "near" of course, there's still a ton of woke content being developed, but it's quite clear woke products are being rejected by consumers everywhere like never before, so i really think the post-woke era is not too far off.

I think this is the first time anyone working for sega has actually confirmed it’s being made. There has just been a lot of rumors, speculation, and leakers, but nobody working for sega said specifically it was being made until now.
