Good Campaign and Multiplayer Enjoyed Playing them both there going to make most of there money on PlayStation and steam since where paying full price and Xbox players are most likely going to play it on Gamepass.

I pay for COD every year already, and that covers half a year of PC GamePass. I'm going to play all new games for 2025 as well as games i haven't tried yet for ~ $70 more for a whole year - that's a deal.
It won't last forever of course, but get it while it's hot.
The EA access alone is probably worth around half of what I'm paying. It's kinda crazy.

While it's not free, I believe that \$6 CAD per month for the ultimate plan is quite affordable.

Here's the strategy:
Purchase a three-month global plan from Eneba or Penguins at a 40% discount. Then, accumulate points through the MS rewards system—I typically earn about 8,500 points—and redeem the Ultimate deal for 12,000 points. This method should effectively double your three-month plan to six months.

This is what happens when a studio is given enough time to make a game. They had an extra year to polish it.
And man, the multiplayer is so, so good. The movement and gunplay is the best in years, probably the best since the PS3/360 era.

IW is the more tech innovative studio at Acti (evolved CoD to modern format with MW'19) and their actual next project i.e CoD 2026 (4 years after MWII) might be something to look forward to

Awesome. I love the big set pieces spectacular campaigns with exception to last years version when they tried the hybrid limited open world approach. Glad to see they came back to their senses. Also looking forward to zombies. I have Gamepass Ultimate but still bought the game as I feel devs should be paid in full for their hard work on top of my GP subscription. I know I am in the minority..

I think it’s just activison putting everything under mw2 base code and treating this as DLC. Maybe tied to Warzone as the actual base game, but it’s labeled as mw2.

Another year seems likely where Call of Duty may receive numerous 9s but will not be nominated for Game of the Year.
Aside from Half-life, when was the last time a 1st person-shooter won GOTY?

I think it was Bioshock in 2007.

The reality is there's far better games this year that Call of Duty won't even be a blimp of the radar when it comes to GOTY

I can't say for this year's version ( I have yet to play it) but there are plenty of versions that are considered great and none won a GOTY despite the notion that COD is the measuring stick for FPS.

And what makes COD a weaker compared to Astrobot or Final Tantasy if all games get similar scores?

Played a couple of rounds of zombies and gunfight last night and was truly impressed. The game runs great on pc which was nice considering my last cod played (mw2) launched with a number of issues on pc. Excited to play the campaign as someone who’s always enjoyed the campaigns since the originals

If you’re talking about Xbox you may pick and chose what modes you want to play. It’s been like that for a few year so you can go back and try just campaigns or MP from previous entries. I’m sure PlayStation and PC lets you chose modes too to save space.

Have yet to try the campaign but I’m glad it’s getting positive remarks (so was MW2 and it was a bore fest). Tried the multiplayer and it’s okay, not as good as mw3, but better than the other COD in the previous 4 years. Zombies has two maps and I had fun with it. Not as robust as Cold War, but much better than previous entries.

Overall it’s a surprisingly solid entry.
