Gamers have had a decade of torture.

This, Stalker, and Avowed are the 3 games I'm really looking forward to but every time I hear Denuvo being in game it really is a disappointment. It's always going to result in some sort of performance and stability issues. The question is just how bad.

just_looken183d ago (Edited 183d ago )

Yep every denuvo game needs a internet connection for some server out there in a basement and like you said there is always a cpu and or gpu usage spike bs.

Gog has shown we do not need all this drm and or online connection bs

Consoles: 30fps PC: Denuvo…This game should be a banger but i fear performance is going to be dreadful all round.

TheNamelessOne183d ago

To be fair, and obviously it isn't ideal, but I also grabbed the console version of this a while back to play on the Series S. Locked at 30, and I really didn't think it felt bad to play. I think some games get away with it better than others, and the slower gameplay had here I think helped it.

Again, not ideal, but if they at least have the game at a locked 30 fps - no dips - it won't be a bad experience. That said, I do still expect more. At least for the PS5/Series X.

@matt139

I think you and the internet once again forget stuff that happened before 2020 back in 2018 the first game launched in a horrific performance state so sadly these devs are bad at optimization.

Though ironic both games had 30fps caps on consoles 6 years later same framerate hazah next gen.

It's not coming to GoG, I take it. Support a small company, so they can get big enough to stick it to everyone. I would cancel too and stop using Steam.

Could have seen this coming. Honestly, the game's not even on my radar. I have the first one, and frankly, I feel they went overboard with the "realistic" thing. It's just too Dark Soulish in difficulty for my taste. I know a lot of people love it, but I'm certainly not its target audience.

Kingdom Come: Deliverance II (XS) Review | VGChartz

VGChartz's Lee Mehr: "In keeping with this world, Kingdom Come: Deliverance II is like swearing fealty to an inconsistent liege-lord. On the one hand, you're absolutely proud to be a bannerman for what this series' foundation represents – its fusion of realism with game mechanics, the simulative world, and its role-playing depth; on the other hand, you see its mismanaged storytelling and design foibles disrupt those spectacular highs. Nevertheless, Warhorse Studios has made a behemoth of a game that would've made a less-experienced or less-talented team fold under pressure. That much is certain. And though I can't necessarily affix this momentous sequel as a new "gold standard" of the genre, it nonetheless earns your loyalty."

Took a break a couple weeks ago after arriving in Kuttenberg. Then a patch broke a main quest. Hopefully it’s fixed now.

coolbeans31d ago

Damn. Have you tried reporting the issue to Warhorse for some potential workaround?

Even though it'd set you back, perhaps you could load in one of your earlier auto-saves where the main quest wasn't broken. It sucks, but at least it wouldn't be a full reset.

P_Bomb31d ago

They acknowledged it on Twitter. Haven’t read the latest patch notes tho so it might’ve been fixed. Some peeps were rolling back hours of saves! Me, I just took a brief hiatus. I’ll check in on it later tonight.

coolbeans31d ago

Gotcha. Well, fingers crossed that the problem has been rectified.

That's what annoying to me: its scope, interlocking systems, and so on *should* make it an easy shoe-in. I just don't think it reaches that final hurdle.
