''Plans''

The key word here.

We are down from the promised 100 star systems.

Currently in the past decade, the backers got only a single star system and still only have access to that single highly dysfunctional system.

Plans mean nothing.
Everybody has plans.
Actions speak louder than words.

They have consistently failed in the action area.

Don't be fooled by cinematic videos backed with music/
This is their seasonal sales tactic for the past decade.

I laugh every time people like you bring up the "100 star systems" because it tells me you don't know a thing.

When they promised "100 star systems" each planet was literally a loading screen and one small area. That's what they explicitly promised. No planetary surface. No biomes. No landing your ship or taking off besides a cutscene. Easy to do 100 star systems like that.

That promise meant nothing when they switched to each planet being fully rendered, seamless, and explorable, with hundreds of locations.

And yet, haters keep bringing up these fabled "100 star systems" like it's any sort of "gotcha" that actually makes sense. It isn't.

Anyone who actually cares for this game knows that 5 star systems with the level of detail we have now are better than 100 (or 1000, or 10000) with the lack of detail that was promised. It's undeniably more content by several orders of magnitude.

Quality is better than quantity, but please, do keep crying. 😂

LordoftheCritics216d ago (Edited 216d ago )

''That promise meant nothing''

That's the only accurate thing you said.

You missed the entire point btw

Abriael216d ago (Edited 216d ago )

Can't miss a point that you never had.

If someone promises 100 pictures of a car but delivers 5 actual working cars, only people lacking any sort of logical thinking would believe the 100 pictures were better.

Of course, I should say "pretend" to believe, because we all know that people making that argument never actually cared and they're just faking interest in the topic for the sole purpose of trolling and bashing this game and its developers.

In the meanwhile, saying "they have consistently failed in the action area" shows absolute blindness to reality. What Star Citizen has, right now, playable, is something no other game or developer ever achieved and won't achieve for the foreseeable future. How's that for action?

What game? The alpha demo that crashes?

rippermcrip215d ago

How much money have you dumped into this game? Have you been paid by the piblisher by any means?

Sircolby45215d ago

@Abriael You're trying to argue with a bunch of talking parrots that know nothing about the game. It's futile lol.

gigoran8215d ago

ahuh, but they did promise 100 star systems. I fail to see your complaint

fr0sty215d ago

Quality is better than quantity, and here we are over a decade later and they have released neither.

You bring up the 100 systems, yet don't even mention the fact that even one system even in the current alpha has more content that all those initially promised systems combined. This blind hate makes you no better than blind fanboys who will defend anything a company does. You're just a clown who sits on the opposite end of the extreme. Both equally worthless.

''Content?''

Denial is definitely a river in SC.

I've backed this game for most of the past decade.

where is this content you speak of?

Giodel214d ago

A few weeks back, I bothered to install it and see what had changed since then. Guess what? I had a bug I had five (5) years ago: I was stuck in the spawn point bed, unable to proceed! The only solution is to wait for server reset to be able to move, and after so many years of development, a simple thing like this is not yet fixed!

vTuro24214d ago

Denial also seems to be a river in your head.

Scam Citizen, these guys should be in prison.

Too ashamed to mention price rumors? What a shill.

Chris Roberts really hit the jackpot with this thing. That guy has been living the high life based on broken promises, feature creeps, what ifs, non existence deadlines, roadmaps to roadmaps to roadmaps, and, no real games. But instead, an eternal Early Access buffoonery shit show that I imagine will be dragged all the way to the finish line one way or another. But when will that finish line will be, or how will it look like, it's anyone's guess. Something tells me it'll be the stuff of legends for sure, and something that will feed YouTuber's families for years to come.

Eleven fucking years... wow...

mkis0076d ago

Having no version 1 deadline is crazy. Why couldn't they just release a complete Game and then continue developing it? At least then they could break the stigma?

SimpleSlave6d ago

That's the $800 million dollar question, isn't it? While a normal dev would've just done that, while spending the next 11 years updating, expanding, and supporting the game, Chris Roberts saw the possibilities in doing the complete opposite, took his shot, and hit the Jackpot instead. Unbelievable that it actually worked.

I guess we'll see just how much longer they can keep up with the charade - eleven more years? - before it all comes crashing down in classic Roberts fashion.

PapaBop6d ago

This game will never reach the finish line.. it will eternally be in early access, we'll be on GTA 10 before this game reaches 1.0
