The original was such a unique experience, I hope they've managed to capture this with the remake.

2 legendary games remade

blady_man231d ago

Is this a remaster or remake?

Chocoburger231d ago (Edited 231d ago )

A little bit of both. Its not a remake in the sense of Resident Evil or Final Fantasy remakes. Those games had a huge budget, different stories, and feature no legacy aspects, which make them "full true reimagined games".

MGS 3: Delta is a mid-tier budget game. New controls and gameplay improvements, but uses the old small PS2 map design with modern graphics placed on top. Enemy AI and boss fights should be extremely similar from the original. Voice acting from 2004 as well, with a near identical script.

In some ways this may be a good thing, I don't want a Twin Snakes situation here, but in other ways, its close enough to the original game where it won't feel like a new experience outside of the modern controls.

Some may claim its either a good or bad thing to make such a close graphical remake of the legendary game. But either way your stance may be, its not an ambitious game, that much is made clear.

I guess the way to differentiate from a Remaster and a Remake is if the game’s code has been completely redone. I used to feel if assets were made from the ground up that constituted as a Remake whereas a Remaster was just a game upscaled with better performance, basically the same game but with Max PC settings.

Look at The Last of Us Remastered (Remastered… obviously) and Last of Us Part 1 (full on Remake with new code) as opposed to Crisis Core (PSP base game) and Crisis Core: Reunion (Remaster even though they remade all the visuals, it still is using the PSP code).

lukasmain231d ago

Awesome I love that. I will def get this day 1. It's totally a remake, not a remaster.

🤣 they got to do something to entice kojima fans to buy this after how they treated him before “partying ways”

jznrpg50d ago

I won’t tell if you don’t tell

thejigisup41d ago

There will be a trophy for surrendering 10+ minutes ogling eva

pwnmaster300049d ago

The “anti-woke” crowd is salivating over this news lol.
GOTY confirmed.

IAMRealHooman49d ago

what about the crotch grabbing in 4K?

Killer2020UK49d ago

Tbh, the "woke" crowd are also enjoying it. The outraged mob doesn't always exist, it's a more enjoyable life to live when you're not always preempting and reacting to something that hasn't even happened yet.

got_dam49d ago

While I appreciate them not virtue signaling with this remake, I am saddened that this is newsworthy. It's tiring being surrounded by offended people all the time.

Killer2020UK49d ago

The three people down voting you are offended that you're tired of being surrounded by people being offended. Kind of proves your point doesn't it

got_dam49d ago

Is what it is. You can't look anywhere without seeing one side being offended and the other being offended because the first was offended.... offended. It used to be that if you didn't like the content of a game you just didn't play it. Now it seems like everyone feels entitled to have every game made to cater their specific values and it's the end of the world if not.

No game. No buy. I knew Konami would try this.

Nyxus95d ago

There is also a collector's edition that does include the game.

CrimsonWing6995d ago

I’m not a fan of busts… they’ve always been weird to me with the chopped off limbs and whatnot, but I ain’t gonna lie, I’m kinda digging this one with the flowers at the base and snake wrapped around. The soundtrack is a must.

I probably wouldn’t drop money on this without the game, but it mentioned they might be working with retail to bundle the game. If that happens… depending on the price, I might buy.

lucasnooker95d ago

Pretty cool box and model though.

jznrpg95d ago

Damn it I’m a sucker for these types of editions for the really good games of history so I’ll probably put down the money for this one. I hardly open any of them though.

PRIMORDUS95d ago (Edited 95d ago )

All this crap is not even worth close to $200, https://www.polygon.com/pre... plus on PC it's using UE5 so we all know how that will be, gonna have to pass on it.
