Kojima Confirms Death Stranding 2 Release Date Is Set, Game Remains on Track for 2025

Death Stranding 2 received a special presentation during the Tokyo Game Show 2024, although no release date was announced.

Man that trailer looked like a giant mess of a narrative... Dangling puppets and super weird photo mode that was kind of cringe. All I could think while watching the trailer was how much of my free time Kojima is gonna waste on these cutscenes.

Another 2025 banger for Sony. So pumped for this. There's lots of new vision from the game but I refuse to watch it.

The writing in this game seems atrocious though. Stranding 1 was total nonsense. Kojima doesn't do good stories anymore, just interesting worlds and tech. Graphics were really good also but it literally had a six hour tutorial and the gameplay was incredibly simplistic.

So crazy how he just gets a total pass. The boss with the guitar in stranding 2 looks especially bad. Also cameos from people like Geoff keiglhy and winding refn are too much.

Death Stranding as an IP is definitely something Playstation can be proud to have. Such an unique and well crafted game design by Kojima and staff.

The community feature, helping each other out, building bridges, witnessing the paths others have gone or even died on ... it was such a special experience for me.

Glad Death Stranding 2 is coming in 2025.

I really gotta say:

Seeing paths others have gone, structures they've built, items that were lost on their journey, collecting and delivering them out ...

My fantasy totally got lost imagining what they must have witnessed, why they died here, why they choose to built structures or leave a rope or latter behind.

While imaginary, it was story-telling beneath the main story.

I couldn't believe it and got so heavily dragged away in awe by that.

For me personally, Death Stranding is easily in the top 3 of games over the past 10 years.

I cannot wait to see how they've been able to use the hardware of PS5 to improve on these and other game mechanics.

Kojima and staff have always been known for pushing game design further and uitilizing technology.

I'm not even a "kojima fan" but I am really looking forward to this game. The first game was good, it was obviously rushed but the vision was there, I expect this game to be the fleshed out vision. I hope there is more of the mountain climbing and traversal on foot stuff, that was really my favorite part.

Started Death Stranding last week. Impressed so far, and was pleasantly surprised it offered the option for Japanese voices.

You know ... With slop we are getting lately ... I look forward to this. I loved building roads for my car, and this silent, quiet environments. This game wasn't great, but it was really memorable.
