So practically the same. While pc is sharper, Ps5 must be a bargain then! These pcs are over twice the price!

Eonjay225d ago

Kinda the point of a console. It just economies of scale.

PrinceOfAnger225d ago

From DF
PC is the better Version for now

( Ragnarök arrived on PC this week, offering a newly upgraded version of the PlayStation hit with a raft of graphical upgrades and new PC-specific features )

" Scaling beyond PS5, avoiding shader compilation stutter and plans for RT."

Zombieburger638225d ago

It’s not just how it looks but it plays. Higher frame rate is a big plus especially if you can push into the 144+ range.

Looks about what I expect from a first game developed for a console and ported by an unaccomplished studio.

Eonjay225d ago

Actually the game runs surprisingly well for an "unaccomplished studio" of 4 people. Mind you there are companies out here in these streets with hundreds or thousands of employees but can't get a PC port to run smoothly.

Vits225d ago

The game was developed for last-generation console hardware that is at least four PC generations old. Not to mention, the game itself is equivalent to a modern corridor shooter with intermissions in between, so not exactly what most sane people would call impressive or demanding.

So sorry, but no, that is not "surprisingly well"; it's quite literally the bare minimum. And I really wish people would stop praising mediocrity. When you do that, you set the bar low, which hurts both the industry and the consumer.

Michiel1989224d ago

@vits so now you change it from your first point, to Ragnarok is a corridor game so it's not impressive anyway? If you have problems with what the game is, critique the original. The studio that does the port had nothing they could have done on that part. Should they have made it a massive open world sandbox or what did you expect them to do, would you be happy and impressed then or blame them for changing the game?

purple101225d ago

All your points are correct. We still haven’t seen what Sonys first party can do save for maybe ratchet and clank and returnal, but those were “launch games”. We need some meat on the bone with the new ones. State of play I just found the list, is not going to be that impressive

God dam where is new god of war and whatever naughty dog doing

883225d ago

Regardless of disagrees, I agree.

MrNinosan225d ago

New God of War?
We just got Ragnarök 🤔

PRIMORDUS225d ago (Edited 225d ago )

You can also use Reshade to make the game and actually all PC games look better, though the FPS can take a minor hit but it's worth it. I cannot play a PC game without using this at all LOL. https://reshade.me/

TheNamelessOne224d ago

Exactly. Not to mention what the modding scene will put out in the coming months.

DustMan224d ago

News flash....it's better.

well... its not quite what I was expecting but still nice they honor the spartan.

What an absolute half-hearted and shoddy way for Sony to commemorate the epic God of War series. A few alternative skins and the option to buy t-shirts or vinyl. It would have been better to not have any celebration. Abysmal.

No offense Sony… but nobody is playing God of war ragnarok in 2025…

andy8553d ago

Every month in 2025 God of War Ragnarok has had more steam users than Starfield.

Inverno53d ago

Bruv I'm pretty there are more people playing literally anything BUT Starfield.

Profchaos53d ago

Tbh I wouldn't be surprised if there was more people playing bubsy 3d than starfield

Profchaos53d ago

Yeah no one at all especially when it just became available to the millions of PS plus subscribers

PanicMechanic53d ago (Edited 53d ago )

Maybe it’s because I sold my Ps5 last year and built a new PC. But ragnarok I finished in 2022 when it released. Don’t have any motivation to replay.

Profchaos53d ago (Edited 53d ago )

It would have been nice to have a PS plus drop of the ps2 original though I get that

Cacabunga53d ago

I actually installed it again today to try the latest roguelite DLC. Costumes is a nice addition but def expected something else.

Killer2020UK53d ago

Mate, I only started playing the previous one. It holds up unbelievably well considering it was a PS4 release

Chard53d ago

Not everybody buys and plays games during the launch window

BISHOP-BRASIL53d ago

I just finished it last week. You don't speak for everyone.

Damn Sony
You keep on remastering recent games and yet choose not to for a franchise that's celebrating it's 20 years?
I'm sure a lot of old and new fans would appreciate being able to play the entire saga using their current gen consoles.

Shane Kim53d ago (Edited 53d ago )

Sure but that would require to actually remaster. Not selling the same game from last gen in a new box and call it remaster.

Profchaos53d ago

I admit I got a bit swept up in thinking we would get a PS classics drop of the first game on PS plus not a remaster or anything just running under the new ps2 emulator id be.halpy with that or the PSP games that deserve more praise really

New in-game content incentives coming to PlayStation games on PC

Playstation writes: "Starting with tomorrow’s release of Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 for PC, we’re working to add more benefits to playing with an account for PlayStation Network. The Last of Us Part II Remastered (coming April 3, 2025), in addition to God of War Ragnarök and Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered, will all soon be adding in-game content unlocks for PlayStation Network account users.

An account for PlayStation Network will become optional for these titles on PC. Players who still opt to sign into a PlayStation Network account will also enjoy added benefits like trophies and friend management."
