PSP2 coming 2010, SE to unveil MMO at E3

In this months issue of Official PlayStation Magazine UK there are some very interesting rumors in the Insider Whispers section. Hit the Jump to see what they are:

More Monster Hunter please with updated graphics like those on MH3 plus put all the monster in Frontier and make it able to connect through some sort of PSN server.

Two analog nubs is a must and this thing will sell. Ok do the touchscreen thing I dont mind and the rest is keep the same functionality only alittle bit more connectivity to the PS3 meaning 2 more buttons somewhere that makes sense so you can stream any game on a PS console on this thing. Sony don't mess this up!!!!!!!!! OH and a new storage medium. HD and cards only please cuts down on loadtimes. NO MORE DISKDRIVES Please!!!!!!!!!!

hopefully we get a glimpse of the psp2 at this years e3. i would love for it to have a bigger screen and 2 analog sticks with 2 more shoulder buttons. i would also like the new psp2 to utilize the oled tech. and cost less than 300.

well, i would say that it would be a good idea to have two thumb sticks, but a R2 and a L2? i wouldnt agree. you would baisicly be holding a Playstation controller, and that wouldnt look sweet. but, i think that it should have a biult in camera. the psp looks perfect for one.

I'm really enjoying the PSP right now and I look forward to upcoming games such as Resistance: Retribution and Kingdom Hearts: Birth By Sleep.
A new PSP system coming out in 2010 is way too early for me and millions of other people.

PS: Don't know about you guys but I would love to see an Uncharted spin-off and a Sly Cooper spin-off on PSP. :D

Im willing to bet the PSP2 will be backwards compatible with PSP downloadable games form the PS Store but I dont think it will have a UMD drive. I think all games will be sold through the PS Store as its impossible to pirate. Even Account sharing doesnt work well with PSP games.

Yeah I figured the mention of the Motorstorm game was for the current PSP given that the article mentioned it might be out this year.

If it is in development then I can't wait becasue Motorstorm is awesome, endless fun for the bus ride home from work.

Would love PSP2 to include custom soundtracks for playing games like mMotorstorm btw!

I for the longest time was thinking the PSP2 would come out in 2010 but now with how every thing is going on in the world I would hope the PSP2 comes out in 2011 this way the PSP2 will be cheaper to make plus then it can sell for less then it would. Also there looks like there is some cool PSP games coming out this year and next year. So I hope the PSP2 comes out in 2011.

what will happen to psp1? I mean do Sony have a 10 year lifecircle for psp1 too? I guess they will probably add some unique feature to it? Something that would differ it from psp2?

And i also think that Sony should release games like LBP and Gran Torismo with psp2. I think that would give the system a heavy boost!
We all know that atleast gt has huge appeal towards gamers in all 3 major territories.

One thing i want to add here.. I think Nintendo put pressure on Sony with dsi. Now they can have this new system in the marked and support this system for more years and watch what Sony comes up with while making huge profit from each unit sold. I mean they even didn't have to add more costs into the new dsi. They removed the Gameboy port and added these features:) Nice move

All good news but I could careless about SE and anything they have to say or what they are doing. I personally have lost all respect for them and could careless when anything of theirs is released. I own a 360 as well as a PS3 so it is not about multiplatting the games it is about how they have gone about everything. Alls I have to say to them is thanks but no thanks I will look to Level 5 for my RPG's from now on and only buy SE games from the used bin for like 5 bucks so it doesn't help them in any way.

The new MMO is from the XI team (Parasite Eve and Chrono games staff), so it will definitely be good. XI is still ahead of its time in terms of many features within the game (even though it's a slow start, and everyone quits at 20). I am beyond excited to see what this new MMO will be, but I will be completely honest and say that not including Mithra would be a major deterrent for me.

I don't mind a new PSP. The last game I got for my PSP was Wipeout Pules. I ended the game & have not played it since. I have the 10001 PSP. I have PSOne games to on the Memory Stick 4GB. I want touch screen & Playstation Network Friends list on it to & PSP Trophy support. I would love that.

I would love to see what SE new MMO is all about. I have been rumors of them making it for the past two years or so so I would like them to officially announce it already.

Here are my predictions.

1. 100% Downloadable games to a Hard disk (no more CDs)
2. 100% Backwards compatible
3. Two analogue sticks
4. Probably faster cpu and better screen, but not too much... keeping cost down is probably a bigger priority.

If it's no longer gonna have the UMD slot, then where are you gonna insert the UMD's?

Unless you mean, the new games will no longer be on a UMD (downloadable only). But the PSP2 will still have the UMD slot (for the older games).
