Here's to hoping. I'll be playing on PC, but also tried the Xbox One version, via the Series S (without a Series update) and it looked pretty good and played well. The sequel is using the same engine as the original, and seems to be holding pretty similar to the original's visual fidelity, so I would expect current gen consoles should be able to handle that, if not even the Series S. Though they'll probably opt to 30 for that.

That's good news hopefully it won't be just 30fps on the PS4 pro
I have no doubt it will be 60fps on the ps5 pro but who's got £700

KCD and KCD2 is and will be CPU-limited more than anything so lets see what they can do. I think KCD still looks gorgeous, I played the PS4 version on the PS5 on a 4K screen and the scenery looked beautiful.

Yeah it's using an updated version of CryEngine. I think the same version used for Hunt: Showdown's last update?

Can't wait to play this game!

Demetrius235d ago

Hopefully the lockpicking isn't atrocious this time around so I can finally hope back in the KCD universe I adore the the vibe of the atmosphere

It's just more of the same, nothing about the graphics have been improved except for some hero lighting, could have had a raytracing mode for pc at least.

jznrpg235d ago

Sometimes more of the same isn’t a bad thing

Pedrof235d ago

How about a 60 fps patch for the first one ?

Kingdom Come: Deliverance II (XS) Review | VGChartz

VGChartz's Lee Mehr: "In keeping with this world, Kingdom Come: Deliverance II is like swearing fealty to an inconsistent liege-lord. On the one hand, you're absolutely proud to be a bannerman for what this series' foundation represents – its fusion of realism with game mechanics, the simulative world, and its role-playing depth; on the other hand, you see its mismanaged storytelling and design foibles disrupt those spectacular highs. Nevertheless, Warhorse Studios has made a behemoth of a game that would've made a less-experienced or less-talented team fold under pressure. That much is certain. And though I can't necessarily affix this momentous sequel as a new "gold standard" of the genre, it nonetheless earns your loyalty."

Took a break a couple weeks ago after arriving in Kuttenberg. Then a patch broke a main quest. Hopefully it’s fixed now.

coolbeans43d ago

Damn. Have you tried reporting the issue to Warhorse for some potential workaround?

Even though it'd set you back, perhaps you could load in one of your earlier auto-saves where the main quest wasn't broken. It sucks, but at least it wouldn't be a full reset.

P_Bomb43d ago

They acknowledged it on Twitter. Haven’t read the latest patch notes tho so it might’ve been fixed. Some peeps were rolling back hours of saves! Me, I just took a brief hiatus. I’ll check in on it later tonight.

coolbeans43d ago

Gotcha. Well, fingers crossed that the problem has been rectified.

coolbeans42d ago

That's what annoying to me: its scope, interlocking systems, and so on *should* make it an easy shoe-in. I just don't think it reaches that final hurdle.
