Hmm...do I just get it ordered or do I take the risk I'll be able to get one 2 weeks later which will be cheaper

EnViiDisnuCCa225d ago

Describing this console as 'trash' just makes you look like a Sony hater.

Gotta love all the disagrees without knowing my plan. If I buy from the PS store I don't get cashback. If I buy from a retail store I get cashback. So I'll save £60.

I will get attempt to get mine through direct I got everything setup already as I’ve ordered other items through PS direct.

Was able to get a ps5 on launch day from direct a few hours after they opened, so assuming they worked out the few kinks, it should be pretty seamless. I can't imagine scalpers will target this one anyway with the price/sentiment being what it is. The fact that ordering one is tied to psn account is how all day 1 preorders should be done to avoid scalpers. I believe you needed a certain amount of activity to be eligible for ordering from them at launch.

Amplitude224d ago (Edited 224d ago )

Every console launch ever from every manufacturer is always the exact same. Limited quantities are shipped at launch, prompting scalpers to slurp up all the units and sell for $$$$ which suddenly makes it a hot item and makes people more inclined to impulse buy when they do see one in the wild. Also makes the MSRP seem more reasonable.

It even happened (and worked wonders) with the freaking PS Portal lol I'm sure they'll do it again.

Scalpers lose if they can't find a buyer. Idk if Sony charges for return shipping on consoles, but that would give me pause if I were trying to scalp.

they dont need to do this, its not like its gonna sold out lol, i just wish it failed misserably with that kind pricing and minor improvement.. Sony is becoming new apple. Now im really glad im slowly moving to pc space rebuying i have on my ps account with sale discount

BQ32224d ago

If your moving to pc and you think this is crazy pricing for how much additional performance you get then I some news for you when you start thinking about updating graphics cards and cpus lol. I paid $1700 for my graphics card alone.

I have a good gaming PC and PS5. Guess what? PS5 is used more often. It's just more convenient. Currently I can't play Dragon Age Origins on PC because it started crashing. Every now and then there's some kind of update that'll cause an issue. Is it mod or game update you spent time on checking forums how to fix the problem. Agree though that games look and perform better on PC but that's expected when you spent £2000 on it

tagzskie224d ago

i also have some news for you guys, though my pc right now is not super pc just like you guys, i dont plan to spend gpu for that kind of price. My deck is more used than my pc afterall. I dont want to deal with the 10$ upgrade like in ps5 and free online is win in my book so the way i see is everybody does have different kind of situation and not alls gonna buy youre 2000$ gpu

andy85224d ago

It will though. They always do no matter the price. The addon disc drive already going out of stock tells a story
