People who already have their hands on physical copies of Doom: The Dark Ages are warning that the full game isn't actually on the disc.
There's zero reason why this game couldn't be on disc it was a strategic move to not allow the game to be played after the servers go down
Same situation with AC Shadows this year, Hogwarts Legacy a couple years ago; PS Collector's Editions likely won't include a disc ever again; Xbox Game Studios definitely won't release a full disc ever again
PS5 Slim + Pro disc drives require online activation and so does the Series X
It's a shame. I think I'm done buying physical. It's an extra expense for an already-expensive PS5 Pro I want before DS2 and GoY, and they'll probably kill off those activation servers way before the store in the future.
It's just sad and annoying even switch 2 is failing in physical.

I don't know I mean I give switch games now and they get hyped but if it's a game that just appears on their home screen after getting a receipt there's just not much excitement.

Yeah, Microsoft could've used two discs for the Xbox version and a proper PS5 disc for the game. However, they hate physical media now so the game is a skip. Even though I really love Doom

Xbox is the only modern console platform where discs from the 2001-era console still do work today. It's the only advantage Xbox has left

Kinda sad. For most people in the west it doesnt mather. But in other parts of the world the physical releases are crucial to have gaming in that Region of the world
All it does is make me less likely to get it at launch, just like Indiana Jones. I’ll pick it up when it’s far cheaper. I still haven’t even bought the Oblivion Remaster yet.
At the minute I still have a lot to play so it’s not like I don’t have anything else to play in the meantime.
It just annoys me that they either could fit it into a disc or they could start using newer discs that can hold more.

Switch 2 will be underpowered and priced as much as Nintendo thinks they can get away with. As is the current switch, but will sell like hotcakes as it the best place to play mobile content by a long way. I love mine and have bought more expensive revisions with a newer screen and still didn't moan. Swith 2 450 is my guess, watch the carnage ensue. I mean look at the chaos from the ps5 pro and that is a seriously over powered console coming in at a ridiculously low price. But people acting like 700 is the end of the world when in fact it in reality it's a low price for the tech
