Avowed Refreshes The Fantasy Action Genre | GameSpot Preview

Obsidian's upcoming Avowed is mixing up what a fantasy action game can be. At Gamescom 2024, Kurt Indovina got to spend some time playing with both the mage and ranger classes, weaving together Doom-like spell-casting, fantasy gunslinging, with Obsidian's style, charm, and humor.

Another Xbox´s successful RPG franchise will born in Avowed and I have no doubt that InXile´s Clockwork Revolution will raise the bar even higher!

It does take place in the Pillars of Eternity universe so I really wouldn't call it a new franchise but more of a spin off .
I think it will be a great game , probably better then skyrim at least mechanically with better rpg elements . People will probably disagree but hey they also made the best Fallout game in New Vegas. I for one can't wait as PoE1&2 loved them both especially the lore and is like honestly the only thing from MS games I've ever been interested in . Definitly gotta get it for PC though , 30fps on XB ... oouch

I'm also going to be playing on PC but, from what I've read, they are still aiming for 60fps on Xbox but aren't there currently. So more of a soft promise of 30fps, but hoping for more.

Dragon Age is a wait and see. Not all that hopeful for it, from what I've seen. Was unaware of Expedition 33. At first I thought it looked interesting, but got a quick glimpse of it and thought "eh. Not big on spectacle fighters". Then I realized it was actually turn-based, and I'm much more interested now.
