Borderland's 3 is only $6 right now try that first to see there new general direction on the game series

It means were going to get of the same from Borderlands 3. Very little innovation, a slight boost to graphics, and an obnoxious story full of memes from over a decade ago.

And a another made up calculation for how many guns are in the game. Expect that at some point.

OtterX259d ago

Hopefully it has a better story than BL3, I just couldn't get into it. I loved BL2 though, Platinumed it on PS3, Vita and PS4.

gold_drake259d ago (Edited 259d ago )

haha yeh i hear ya.

i hated bl3s villains.

-Foxtrot259d ago

Also they need to perfect a villain, nobody has been able to top Jack yet.

Kosic258d ago

Bring back jack in hologram form

Christopher258d ago (Edited 258d ago )

It's unlikely anyone will top Jack. The Tiny Tina's Wonderlands game shows all they can do is try and copy him. They'd have to hire new and better writers for that, and I don't think the existing writers are pulling for such a thing.

The problem is the series has really written itself into a focus on vaults and the limited number of factions that we can guess how things will go and it limits their options unless they destroy parts of their own world.

OtterX258d ago

@Christopher Absolutely, Jack was a fluke of greatness, and actually goes down as one of the greatest villains in modern gaming history.

It's amazing how bad they screwed up Tiny Tina in the new film. They completely missed her bipolar erratisicism with her badonkadonks and whatnot, and somehow thought a set of bunny ears on a young teen of melancholic appeal would be enough to suffice.

zaanan258d ago

Ok, I loved to hate Jack, but it needs to be said: it made no sense to kill off Roland when New U stations exist. Just a huge plot hole in a story that took itself way too seriously. Also the guns felt like toys. My opinion, they peaked with BL1.

RaidenBlack259d ago

Hope its using UE5 this time and has updated design and visuals.
.... and again, what happened to Brothers in Arms, Gearbox

TheNamelessOne259d ago

I would love a new, proper, Brothers in Arms game. Nothing like what they were going to do with Furious 4.

RaidenBlack258d ago

know what? Furious 4, although looked weird at the time, seems kinda 'fun' now retrospectively
anyways they later removed BiA from F4's title, making it a separate thing.
But yea, an gritty, emotional BiA 4 in UE5 would be great.

Yui_Suzumiya253d ago

Well they announced 14 years ago that they were working on a new Brothers in Arms. I'm not talking about the canceled Furious 4 either. They said it would be a proper sequel. I think Gearbox has more canceled or vaporware games than actual releases. But after they made two vaporware games come to fruition, maybe it's for the best? 😆

Inverno259d ago

That's one way to make up for the movie, they probably had planned to announce it alongside the movie anyway but the movie floppin works in their favour more.

Friendlygamer259d ago

Yeaaaah their big multi-media empire dream is probably dead

Goodguy01259d ago

Please no woke story and cast.

just_looken259d ago

Well the borderlands 3/tiny tena lead writer is a proud defender of sweet baby inc and dei

https://thatparkplace.com/g...

aaronaton258d ago

Well its DOA for sure now.

MrDead258d ago

I hope it's full of woke so we don't have to hear all the Tater Tots and the delicate little ant-woke dei obsessed freaks bitch and moan.

Gameseeker_Frampt258d ago

Well considering people like you are triggered by black, brown, and female protagonists in video games the Borderlands franchise probably isn't for you. How you didn't lose your mind after seeing Roland, Lilith, and Mordecai in 2009 when the franchise launched I'll never understand.

Borderlands 4 - State of Play Deep Dive

In today's special State of Play presentation, Creative Director Graeme Timmins and Senior Project Producer Anthony Nicholson showed off the deepest ever look at Borderlands 4's explosive, carnage-filled gameplay.

RhinoGamer885d ago

For dedicated Borderlands player, what is the vibe/take on this game? Pre-order worthy?

LiViNgLeGaCY5d ago

I'm super excited for it. This looked awesome to me.

ThinkThink5d ago

I was hoping for improved visuals, but it still looks last gen. Looks fun though, hopefully it's more borderlands 2 and less borderlands 3.

Noskypeno5d ago

I personally think it looks pretty good graphics wise. Probably not the best example of a next gen game, but there's only so much you can do with that art style.

RaidenBlack4d ago (Edited 4d ago )

It does look slightly better visual wise compared to 3 but yea was expecting more as well.
Not pure tech wise but rather more artistic flourished elevating the cell shaded visuals even more.
What I dont understand is the poor frame rate in the gameplay ... UE5 strikes again, even for a cell shaded game?

MrDead5d ago

It's just more Borderlands, for me that's a good thing. Looks like they've added to the more free flowing movement from the third game.

I don't know if I'd pre-order, I'll probably just buy it on release day.

The State of Play yesterday kinda confused me on this.

The B-roll footage looked way more fun, explosive, creative, and smoother (at 60fps) than the actual gameplay demo, which was in a flat-looking metallic icy area in 30fps and seemed very run-of-the-mill in comparison.

Considering the writing team is trying to avoid a specific kind of tone in their approach to the game, I wonder if it'll be more like the B-roll and those quick exciting moments, or the latter...
