Jeanne D'Arc – never released in the UK

Play-mag:

"As Level-5's PS3 exclusive White Knight Chronicles makes a sturdy, if inconsequential effect on the Japanese software charts, I started wondering about what happened to Level-5's PSP tactical RPG, Jeanne D'Arc, in the UK. I picked it up at an import shop but didn't realise, at the time, that it never found its way to these shores."

This game is freaking amazing. Sad for those in the UK.

Silellak5984d ago

Seconded, thirded, an even fourthed, just for good measure.

gaffyh5984d ago

Yeah this game is awesome, I managed to get an import as well. I don't understand why it wasn't released here though.

KillaManiac5984d ago

I definitely agree...this is one of best PSP games and strategy rpgs out there EASY.

Hububla5984d ago

I downloaded mine of the PSP store once the latest update to the PSP came.. maybe they can get it there..

This is the reason I want to move to the USA, we hardly get anything, and if we do it's 2 months at least after everyone else gets it.

Socom, It's coming out next month in the UK. Pretty sad.

That said, you live in a far more culturally diverse and liberal country (depending on your location, I suppose, but you can move around easily in Europe).

Just be happy with what you have! :) And import. I'm pretty sure the PSP and PS3 are region free. You can import all the games you want off Amazon.com. The Euro is worth more than the U.S. dollar anyhow so it'll make up the cost in international shipping and come out to about the same if not cheaper.

Cheers,
- C

P.S. Even for Socom and other U.S. server based games, I'm fairly certain that making a U.S. PSN account would suffice.

Tomdc5984d ago (Edited 5984d ago )

there are reasons to move to the usa, it has its benifits just like the uk does... I've lived in both (only a year in the US) but i think its rather strange that products not coming out here at the same time (or not at all with a limited number of unpopular products) is a reason to move lol.

Chris3995984d ago (Edited 5984d ago )

And the dollar (Euro) is stronger. And the U.S. is sliding/ in a recession right now. Obama is a ray of hope, but their social-infrastructure is too ingrained with the pharmaceutical companies to ever have socialized health care (Canadian here, and we're currently fighting - and winning - to keep ours from going private.)

Not to get all political there. Most of my family lives in the U.S., and they've suffered through their fair share of HMO madness, so it's a bit of a hot button issue for me :)

And yeah, moving for games sounds a bit extreme :)

Peace.

i played this game to the end its very very godd, its tactical strategy rpgs , i passed soo much time at work and played this abotu an hour every nite, watch out tho its like front mission style battles , the battles are 20 - hour long but very engaging little bit hard until you get to the special knight armour and you become so strong its cool, this is where i assume they got the white knight chronicles idea for the knight transformation, i didnt realise it didnt even get uk release

Halo3Mgs45984d ago

hopefully they'll release this game via the psn

sinncross5984d ago

It's sad this never made it to Europe but I'm not worried about WKC coming, cause it will.

I'm more concerned that neither Cardboard Warmachine or Ushiro will make it here.

Review: Jeanne d'Arc - Long Awaited Strategy RPG Remains Divine | Push Square

Khayl Adam: "With the release of the game for PS5 and PS4, which features up-rendered graphics, quality-of-life features like rewind and quick save, and custom video filters, there is now no excuse not to play what has rightfully become something of a cult classic. Level-5's take on the historical Hundred Years War that raged between the kingdoms of England and France in the 15th century is a creative one, and we're glad to report that the wait has been worth it."

PlayStation Plus Just Quietly Released the Most Overlooked Tactical RPG Of All Time

Jeanne d'Arc is a brilliant hidden gem that released on the PSP in 2007, and now the tactical RPG is finally available again through PlayStation Plus.

OtterX324d ago (Edited 324d ago )

One of my favorite PSP titles of all time. This is probably my favorite Classic title to hit the PS Catalog yet. I had already bought it on Vita though as part of the PSP store, so I got it for free here to keep. That was quite generous of them, considering the HD overhaul and trophy addition. It would have been worth buying again. Every jrpg fan should try this out on PS+ catalog.

solideagle324d ago (Edited 324d ago )

can we not buy it separately? it seems its only for premium

OtterX324d ago (Edited 324d ago )

No? It shows up on mine as owned "Free" bc I bought it years ago.

If you have a Vita, I suppose you could still buy it, if it's still on the store there?

*edit - yep it's still there! $9.99 is a steal for this remaster. (of course free on PS+ catalog is amazing too! This is one I like owning though) You should be able to buy it there on that link on your PC.

Here's a reddit post about it: https://www.reddit.com/r/JR...

shinoff2183324d ago

It's 10 bucks. Go over to the ... on the game page. It should let you buy it

FinalFantasyFanatic323d ago

You can buy it separately, I had to use the PS app to find it on the store (the web store is so dysfunctional), I thought the game had skipped the aussie store, lol.

BinaryMind324d ago

@OtterX - Yes you can buy this game without owning a Vita (like pretty much every other PS classic on PS4/PS5). I bought it yesterday on PS5. It also costed 10 USD.

shaenoide323d ago

You can play it on PS5 ?

BinaryMind323d ago

Yep, you get both the PS4 and PS5 versions if you buy it too.

jznrpg324d ago

Its a great one and I’m going to play it via the Portal. Summoner PS2 also got trophies which is cool

MeteorPanda324d ago

Nothing beats ff tactics: war of the lions in my heart.

gold_drake324d ago

nothin beats Shinging Force 2, i mean, no contest haha xD

shinoff2183324d ago

Shining force 2 was the first tactic game I ever played. Loved that turtle.

Lionsguard323d ago

Shining Force 1 had the more memorable characters imo.

OtterX324d ago (Edited 324d ago )

Yes! Final Fantasy Tactics is still my favorite tactical jrpg of them all!

TheColbertinator323d ago

Valkyria Chronicles is my #1 always

gold_drake324d ago

its rly good, playing right now actually ha.

Einhander1972323d ago (Edited 323d ago )

I am playing this too, it's my first time. I really enjoy games like this and I'm having fun.

They also added Summoner which I do know quite a bit about it's also really good.

Great month for PS+ all round.

Edit: I hope Sony sees the popularity of this style of game because i have for years (since PS3) been wanting and saying they should make spin off games of their popular series but in different genres.

I have always wanted a tactical game from games like Uncharted, TLoU or Horizon (or any franchise really, I also think they could make a cool card battler Slay the Spire type game.

And they could make games like this quick and cheap compared to what they normally make.

10 Best PSP RPGs Of All Time

One of the strongest genres that the PSP had to offer would have to be RPGs. The PS1 and PS2 both had strong RPG libraries, so it’s not a huge surprise that the PSP picked up the baton with some real bangers.
