????.... this must be the outlier.

S2Killinit272d ago

Its sitting nicely on 82 metacritic.

MrBaskerville271d ago

Be careful, your brain is rotting.

chicken_in_the_corn272d ago

I've seen a number of 6/10 reviews for this.

darthv72272d ago (Edited 272d ago )

Over 8 hours ago (when i posted) this was the only one. I too have seen others. I've seen more 7-10 than 6 and under.

CrimsonWing69272d ago

I’m very curious as to why there’s ONLY PC reviews… now where have I seen this before? 🤔

CrimsonWing69272d ago (Edited 272d ago )

Well… let’s think about it from previous experiences. How did Cyberpunk get distributed for reviews? There is not a single console review out there. It just makes me wonder, doesn’t it you?

I’m reading some massive bugs in the reviews.

Like, look at IGN, “Despite all of that, it often feels like it’s barely holding it all together. I suffered numerous crashes on PC (the PlayStation 5 version wasn't made available for this review), despite having a top-of-the-line setup with a GeForce RTX 4090, not to mention the multiple times I fell through the ground and died just as I was on the verge of defeating a particularly tough boss, or the way characters would randomly switch from English to Chinese, or the way the dialogue audio would drop out all together and leave me completely in the dark during an important cutscene. It’s a rickety roller coaster for sure, and there were definitely spots during the ride where I was not having a great time.”

That’s not sounding all that super duper, if you’re picking up what i’m laying down. Even more curious is the Xbox delay… maybe it’s so bad they just can’t pull a CDPR and release it?

esherwood272d ago (Edited 272d ago )

I played cyberpunk day 1 on Xbox and had no problems

CrimsonWing69272d ago (Edited 272d ago )

On which one, Xbox Series X or Xbox One? … big difference there.

And that’s not a knock on Cyberpunk. I love the game, but I’m straight up saying where have we seen a game get reviewed with only PC being reviewed? And why was that?

MrNinosan272d ago

Would you ming sharing your gamertag to prove that?
I played CP2077 on both Series X and PS5 at release, and the amount of crashes and bugs where close to endless.

Elda272d ago

They say the PS5 review will be released this coming Monday.

CrimsonWing69272d ago

I guess that makes sense and by making sense, I mean, it doesn’t.

Obscure_Observer272d ago

We´ll see how the PS5 handles a true next gen UE5 powered game.

I heard that Sony engineers helped Game Science optimize this game for the PS5.

That´s why i find odd the fact that GS is apparently hiding the PS5 version while allowing reviewers on PC to show gameplay only till chapter 2 when IGN said that BMW´s issues are more perceived through chapter 3 and beyond.

Something definitely smells fishy.

Charlieboy333272d ago

@Peeping Tom aka Obscure Observer......sorry I don't actually have a reply to you. Just wanted to share my special new name for you.

Einhander1972272d ago

This isn't the first game using UE5 on PS5 ya know.

You keep saying things about PlayStation that just make xbox look worse by comparison.

272d ago
S2Killinit272d ago (Edited 272d ago )

Didn’t they not release this on xbox because it couldn’t handle it? 🤫

272d ago
kayoss272d ago

I wouldnt worry about PS5 running a UE5 powered game, it had before. If i were you, ill be worried about xbox being able to run something like Microsoft Paint.

Honestly I put zero faith in ‘professional’ game reviews. These people are activists more then anything

babadivad272d ago

I don't see how people can disagree with this. They don't even hide their "slactivism".

272d ago
ChasterMies272d ago

Most review scores are inflated to appease publishers and fans. Games as a media are seriously not so great everything is greater than a 5 out of 10.

272d ago
Charlieboy333272d ago (Edited 272d ago )

So he expected a Soulslike game but this is 'just an action game where the bosses are sometimes hard'. What the actual..... So then Ninja Gaiden and games like it must be crap because they are also action games where the bosses can be difficult....note 'difficult' , not 'hard' Mr Journalist.

Whats hard seems to be your crotch area for the concept of 'Soulslike' which this game is NOT. In fact why don't you take all the disc covers from your favourite souls games and jam them up your ass sideways...right where this pathetic review should be.

The very fact that you brought up the fake misconduct claims as worth mentioning ( hint: they have fuckall to do with the product you are supposed to be professionally reviewing ) immediately invalidates your thoughts in the game since you are a sheep incapable of forming your own.

NOTE: Not ONCE does he mention technical issues so his 6/10 is literally because it didn't feel soulslike enough and the action didn't 'feel' right. Oh and anticipation was dampened because of the sexist studio ( although that didn't affect his review....promise! ). Yeah right.

90sGamingWasBetter272d ago

I'm actually sick of souls like games.

Charlieboy333272d ago (Edited 272d ago )

Yeah man. They do have their place, but the way some people go on as if they invented respawning enemies and difficult bosses is just insane. If anything, it shows their lack of gaming experience and this is even more pathetic when guys like this 'gaming journalist' make their lack of knowledge evident by trying to 'soulsify' every damn game in some form. Hence my suggestion to 'relocate' his souls game collection since he loves it so much he can't see further than that.

VersusDMC272d ago

Yeah i don't get why people are judging this as a souls game.

Linear with only some side paths, not a lot of exploration, no map...that sounds like DMCV or character action games in general.

jznrpg272d ago

I like Souls games but don’t care for most souls-like as they usually aren’t close to as good as Souls games. I never thought this was supposed to be a Souls-like game but I guess this person did

The Physical Release Of Black Myth: Wukong Performed So Well It Saved Businesses, Says Publisher

As more and more games go digital-only, Black Myth: Wukong's physical publisher says it performed so well that it saved some businesses.

Good to see physical still doing well!

dantesparda10d ago

So fix the performance on PS5/Pro. With up all that ghosting and dithering, improve the performance!

FPSRUSSIA10d ago

it would of sold even more Physical if it released day one but still Great News.

Yi-Long10d ago

The industry wants to push the narrative that physical is on its way out and gamers prefer digital. Fact is that many gamers simply have less and less options to buy physical, so they’re stuck with either digital, or nothing.

Many gamers still prefer physical, especially for SP games. Games without ‘always online’ or other kinds of anti-consumer DRM.

I hope they’ll release a complete edition (physical) for Wukong once the announced DLC comes out.

OptimusDK10d ago

I totally get it, but dont know if i really matters as most games now do not hold the actual game, or at least a very early version without day one patches.

They are often just a licence to download the actual game. Unfortunately it is not like in the old days, if you just had the game you can play the game no matter what.

Nyxus10d ago

That goes for some games but there are still plenty for which this isn't the case: https://www.doesitplay.org/

jznrpg10d ago

Most games are on disc.

gold_drake10d ago

yeh i hate it too, if they'd give us actual numbers on how much it costs to print themz id be more inclined to beliebe it, but otherwise, nah no way.

kayoss10d ago

I try to buy physical PS5 games when possible. Physical add an extra cost to the developers. However, the fact that digital cost the same as a physical version of the game makes no sense to me. The only games i will buy digital are Nintendo Switch games, those cartridges are small and i lost/misplaced a few already.

senorfartcushion10d ago

Every game that sells well "saves businesses" nowadays - based on how many studios suffer layoffs due to a game not skyrocketing to success, that is.

Popsicle10d ago (Edited 10d ago )

I waited for the physical release to purchase this. If it didn’t get a physical release I had already made up my mind that I was fine skipping it.

I know I am fighting a losing battle because an all digital future is inevitable, but I only purchase physical and will continue doing so.

kayoss10d ago

You will be surprised. Games are getting bigger in size and we all know that console dont provide you with that much hard drive space. I know you can just delete the game from your harddrive to save space and re-install whenever, but me having a physical insure that i can install anytime i want, even if they they take the game off their digital stores.

ravens5210d ago (Edited 10d ago )

Exactly. I do the same. Only digital games I have are from ps+, and I don't consider those owned. As soon as I don't renew, those games are inaccessible.

Leadership Spotlight: A Conversation with Phil Rosenberg

After a magnificent 20-year tenure with Sony Interactive Entertainment, Phil Rosenberg, SVP of Global Partner Development and Relations, recently announced that he is bidding adieu at the end of 2025. "it’s a story that I’m sure won’t go away any time soon"
It might if you'd let it

danno_omen47d ago

We don’t control who suddenly decides to bring it up in interviews lol

lukasmain47d ago

It's pure speculation on behalf of the author of this opinion piece and it hold no weight at all.

InUrFoxHole46d ago

@lukasmain
Im curious how you can make that comment when he specifically mentions Blackmyth? No weight at all? Either...
A. You can't read
B. You're letting blind loyalty take point
C. You just didn't read it
D. You're trolling

pwnmaster300047d ago

There really wasn’t no suggestion.
Just pure speculation as usual.

Lightning7746d ago

It's in the interview. He said it.

lukasmain46d ago

He never suggested a special exclusivity deal. Far from it. The author is just speculating.

Lightning7746d ago (Edited 46d ago )

@Main I quoted Rosenberg at the bottom he said it himself on the interview that him and guys go out and find hidden gems. This interview wouldn't mean much but Black Myth was supposed to release simultaneously along with the Xbox version unfortunately, it didn't. Got taken off and GS said it was the S. MS said there was a deal in place. If he's going out and finding niche or "hidden gems" BMW should of released only on PS5 since its considered a hidden gem that could only be played on PS console just like the rest of the other games he mentioned. The game was announced awhile ago as a multiplat. The S of late has been holding its own with third party and 1st party games. It's also clear that the S did have issues for awhile also and maybe GS really can't optimize for the console. I'm just exploring every possibility.

Hmm, I dunno at the end of the day. The S has been performing well optimization wise lately. I dunno it's hard to tell anymore what's, what.

-Foxtrot47d ago (Edited 47d ago )

There is no way in high hell Sony would pay money for this, something so successful and not advertise it as an exclusive console game. There's just no way, they've done it for everything else, why would they not do it for this.

It's people who can't let a story go, there's no deal, they just probably supported a new Chinese studio with their China Hero Project and give them tools to help develop on their console. If Microsoft came along and offered them the same tools early on for their console I'm sure Sony wouldn't bat an eyelid.

Sony took a chance on a new studio early on and they benefitted from it, that's their reward.

….. for the world’s most boring game

1Victor71d ago

And we would’ve getaway with it if it wasn’t for those pesky kids games.
Congrats to NT on their 11 nominations I wish them good luck 👍👍

thesoftware73071d ago

Beautiful game, love the series, and the character!

Well crafter and well done.

Toecutter0071d ago

Good. The game is unique, heartfelt, and beautiful. Yes, the mechanics are rather simplistic. But the teams dedication to storytelling is on full display. It's definitely not for everyone, but it won't disappoint those who appreciate video games that push the boundaries of the medium.

Alos8871d ago

More like pushes the boundary of how short a game can be while still charging fifty quid

InUrFoxHole71d ago

Love the game. Beautiful looking, game play was solid and it didn't over stay it's welcome.

PrinceOfAnger71d ago

Good game with the best graphics and animation I've seen this gen. They need to focus more on the gameplay though if there is HB3.
