GreedFall 2's early access model is fairly similar to Baldur's Gate 3, and seeing as how BG3 massively succeeded, it only makes sense.
There isn't a lot of information about where GreedFall 2: The Dying World's Early Access will go in 2025, but there are some reasonable expectations.

Instead of a direct sequel or prequel, GreedFall 2: The Dying World offers a standalone story from the perspective of an island inhabitant who has been abducted to the old continent. We will return to the fantasy world that engrossed players in the original game, but players can look forward to a new story that, according to the developers, is strongly influenced by player decisions.
