"it sends the message that the player who plays on story difficulty isn't as good as a player who plays it on normal or harder" like.... Objectively if you can only complete the game on the easiest setting then obviously you aren't as good at the game.... This also isn't anything new plenty of games offer a really easy or story setting and warn you at the difficulty selection that some content or trophies/achievements won't be available on that difficulty.

Games are usually much too easy on Normal. Story mode I am sure is a cake walk and that’s why some devs choose to lock it out. They want you to challenge yourself a little bit on normal

CrimsonWing69278d ago

All they need to do is just add “must be done on normal difficulty and above.” If they did that this would be a nothing burger. I think it’s kind of sh*tty not to mention the requirement, which can waste peoples’ times who are trophy hunting without making things more difficult.

montebristo278d ago

Correct. Many games turn off achievements on easy difficulty or with cheats enabled.

YourMommySpoils278d ago

It actually does do that, giving you the warning.

CrimsonWing69278d ago

Then yea, this is absolutely a nothing burger and if it clearly states that the trophies/cheevos have to be earned on normal or higher and people are complaining, we’ve reached a new low then.

We’re just throwing around the word paywall now huh? I didn’t think it was odd they did that, but paywall? Nah.

StarcrossedBits278d ago

Game devs don't *owe* you trophies. If they want to put weird limits on their trophies, that's up to them.

I think it is a weird limit to say you can't earn ANY trophies on Easy but good lord gamers have become a deeply entitled bunch.

Flintlock: The Siege of Dawn Review | NoobFeed

NoobFeed editor Azfar Rayan writes - There are some great moments in Flintlock: The Siege of Dawn, but overall, it's just an average ARPG game. It crawls to a halt at the beginning, while the plot and character development fall well short of expectations. I wouldn't call it an exceptional game or anything that really leaps out. It took me just over twenty hours to finish the game on normal while grinding a bit for reputation and resources to upgrade.

I’m enjoying it, almost done. Honestly all the woke freak out was kinda pointless, there’s not much here. Woke or otherwise. It’s suuuuuuppper slow for the first few hours. But it’s got enough cool design elements and the combat is fun enough that I’m enjoying it. Quintessentially AA though. Any good ideas are almost cancelled out by meh ideas and a couple bad ones, leading to a fun but ultimately unimpressive experience. It’s not objectively bad though. Definitely worth a buy on a deep sale or a download for free. Unless you’re a “SBI Detected” person, then just carry on foaming at the mouth like a rabid racoon. 😂
