Ubisoft being Ubisoft. How's that Skull & Bones doing?

Relientk77291d ago

Well you see, Skull & Bones is a AAAA game. I think Star Wars Outlaws is just AAA, so it's not held to the same standard and quality.

boing1290d ago

I'm sure it 'exceeded all the expectations'. Or at least that's what Ubi likes to say when the game isn't doing very well.

Extermin8or3_290d ago

Last I heard it actually had a decent number of players and sales but if it's enough to make back the money it's torturous development cost-that's another thing

Berenger291d ago

This cancel culture has got to go.

smolinsk291d ago

Yes its horrible and ruining the world right now. Really hope it takes a more positive turn for something better soon.

senorfartcushion291d ago

There's no such thing as cancel culture

mkis007290d ago (Edited 290d ago )

Fart

Call it what you will, but it's other name was" the wisdom of the crowd" and it most def exists.

senorfartcushion290d ago

To use the word "culture" indicates that it is anything other than rich people getting themselves in trouble.

This is what wealth gaps do: they open up regular things to scrutiny from the public. Poor people can't get "cancelled" but they can get in trouble. The only difference between poor people and rich people is how regular it is for poor people. It's not a culture for us but the rich want it to be - otherwise them getting into trouble would just be unnatural (!)

YourMommySpoils290d ago

Bill Cosby was the original MC for Star Wars Outlaws.

smolinsk290d ago

Everybody. All the low life losers have a voice from the depth of there gaming dungeon celler. Its those people that are the worst.

Seraphim291d ago

The last thing I'd call what is happening in gaming is cancel culture. It's more a collective of raining down hate and vitriol on anything that doesn't fit these clowns tastes and opinions. It's like a vocal subsection of gamers online think that every game should be tailored to them.

Demetrius291d ago

Ikr sadly it won't mfs like to complain alot nowadays, shhi dumb af

I just find it funny all this manpower, time, resources, money for this game and despite being an open world Star Wars game we've wanted since we were kids there's not much hype for it.

jambola291d ago

it's like if the first trip to mars was run by Burger King

Rainbowcookie290d ago

"The main issues raised by viewers included:

Low and Variable Frame Rates: The preview displayed noticeable performance issues.
Poor Visual Effects: Many felt that the graphics and effects didn’t meet expectations.
Non-Reactive AI: The behavior of non-playable characters seemed unpolished and unrealistic.
Overall Roughness: The game appeared less polished than anticipated for a title close to release." Don't think its a hype thing more of a performance thing, but you are right.

I think it’s looks great. What’s the negative feedback about?

ZeekQuattro291d ago

Unattractive 💪 female lead complaints mixed with nitpicks about the explosions being bad or poor facial animations. Game looks fine to me. I'm looking forward to it.

-Foxtrot291d ago

That PS2 GTA San Andreas explosion is not a nitpick, neither is using explosives to kill an enemy and the other enemies super close by going "Who's there".

Why are we all suddenly arselicking Ubisoft now

600 developers from eleven Ubisoft studios have worked on this game...it's not a good look.

CrimsonWing69291d ago (Edited 291d ago )

@Foxtrot

So, let me get this straight, an explosion and enemies reacting to an explosion in a way that’s no different than knocking on a wall in, what I consider an amazing game, with a line of, “Huh, what was that noise?” Makes this bad?

…like at this point it’s coming off like people are itching to hate this game and as soon as they spot a blemish they run with it being a trash game. Give me a break here, this game looks better than most stuff released now, uh, sans an explosion effect and some AI not reacting to an explosion.

-Foxtrot291d ago (Edited 291d ago )

Come on man it's not the simple shit we see in other games, the explosion in the videos are RIGHT NEXT TO THEM, most other games now have reactive AI where they'd be on at least alert, scouting the area and trying to find you or in this case would have at least targeted you since its so obvious.. This game didn't even do that, we never got to that stage because the AI here is clearly terrible.

Like I said, there's so much manpower and studios being spent on a game like this, it should be better. Even Ubisofts Assassins Creed games do the majority of the things better than what was seen in this video.

"this game looks better than most stuff released now"

Lmao...sure it does

If you want to lick Ubisofts arsehole go ahead but don't bitch when other people don't want to follow the same bullshit.

raWfodog291d ago

I thought the recent gameplay trailer looked good. But everyone has their own opinions. I'm definitely looking forward to seeing what the final product will bring. That will be the true test.

Pyrofire95291d ago (Edited 291d ago )

there's a list at the top of the article.
But also I don't put too much weight into what people are saying except from the couple of reporters/reviewers that I actively follow. We'll see in august. That's more than a month to get a day one patch made that could address some of the listed complaints, at least FPS to a degree i imagine.

Stuff that should have been in the base game. Probably would have had better sales, too.

YourMommySpoils24d ago

Don't think even that would have helped this borefest of the least Star Wars experience in history of gaming.

coolbeans24d ago

Nah. The Outlaws base game isn't starved of content. Its more the lacking quality-of-life features at launch and a design template that's fundamentally confused.

-Foxtrot24d ago

The first thing we see Hondo Ohnaka in for a while since Rebels / The Clone Wars and it's for this...

He's such a great character, I thought he'd have been included in something better. Hopefully we see him in Ahsoka Season 2 or the Mandalorian and Grogu film.
