I'm a fan and frankly thats unbelievable even to me.

VersusDMC330d ago (Edited 330d ago )

It's the 2nd best selling NEW(2024 release) game of 2024. 10th best selling game of the year. Writer got confused by the wording.

https://www.videogameschron...

Still good sales though.

Eonjay330d ago

I saw a comment below about the $10 upgrade deal. If these counted as sales it be number 2 for the year. I forgot about that.

VersusDMC330d ago (Edited 330d ago )

Disregard my comment. It's 2nd in the UK and 10th in all of europe. Gotta stop rush messaging during work

Is there a way to delete your own comments?

anast330d ago

It's a generational game for sure.

DarXyde330d ago

Same.

Loved the game, but there have been some real bangers this year.

seanpitt23329d ago

Yeah this is due to how good the first game was.. a lot would have been disappointed in this game with it's direction

I've got part one for ps5 just waiting on part two to be a little cheaper. Great game , and series.

repsahj330d ago

Same here! Parts I & Part II are awesome. Yes, I was a little annoyed by what happened to Joel in Part 2, but I think that made the progression of the story better. No matter what the haters say, the game is a masterpiece. I also plan to replay part 2 on the PS5 version when it goes on sale.

neutralgamer1992330d ago

So those fans who love part one and dislike part 2 are now hatets? I am sorry that some gamers demand that the game treat it's story and characters according to the boundaries the game itself set in the 1st game

No one has a issue with Joel being killed within the story people have issue with the way they handled it. But like you said it's a masterpiece and we are just haters because that's fits the narrative better

1st game is a true masterpiece and doesn't need a sequel (for me personally) just like RDR is a perfect game for me and doesn't need a sequel

To each their own

outsider1624330d ago

@neutral
"..some gamers demand.." oh..so the writers should follow according to what "some of these gamers demand" ?? Ooh boy..God forbid a story created by the writers themselves be demanded to follow what gamers want.

"No one has an issue with joel being killed"
Im sorry but 80% WAS the reason for Joel being killed off.

"1st game is a true masterpiece and doesnt need a sequel"
Imo i do agree with this though..

CRASHBASHUK330d ago

wait are people that stupid to buy a reremaster?

Babadook7330d ago

If you already own it the upgrade is cheap though.

shinoff2183330d ago

As someone who prefers physical. Yes damn right I want the ps5 version. It isn't your money. Relax dog

anast330d ago

If you game you can't talk. We are all on the same stupid boat.

Bathyj330d ago

I paid a small amount to get the best version of an amazing game and did my 3rd playthrough. I'm fine with my choices.

And what's a reremaster?
I think you're getting confused with Part 1.

Flewid638330d ago (Edited 330d ago )

Why would I buy the old, outdated version of a game I've never played? lmao.

I didn't see the need to buy the PS5 version of the game because a 60 fps patch was already out on PS4. Hopefully the people who got the remastered version found some value in it.

outsider1624330d ago

If im not mistaken, there's also a 4k patch to it? Along with the other mode, i forgot. Too bad i was actually looking forward to factions 2.0

BehindTheRows330d ago

The 60fps patch in the PS4 version lacks the 4K res and additional texture upgrades.

Good-Smurf330d ago

The biggest upgrade of remastered version over original is it loads much faster and the 4K fidelity mode is insanely crisp and pristine.

S2Killinit330d ago (Edited 330d ago )

The greatest series of games for me. And i dont say that lightly, some of the biggest titles to ever grace the screen are right up there but I thoroughly enjoyed TLOU1&2

If true, this is why Sony keeps making them. A lot of "gamers" might complain or cry about it. But as long as these things keep making money, they will keep doing it and ignore all those complaining online

neutralgamer199216d ago

You are absolutely correct end of fbe day money talks and so far their remastered/remakes have generated a lot of money

Lightning7716d ago

So y'all are more worried about a companies pockets than your own entertainment? Are you pretending to like the same game being re-realeased each year?

CosmicTurtle16d ago

Nobody said anything like this above.

S2Killinit16d ago

No that is not what they are saying. People want to play these games. But, We have a minority of people who think they speak for everyone.

Redemption-6416d ago

Da fuck are you talking about? When did I say or even imply that?

1Victor15d ago (Edited 15d ago )

@llight: “ Are you pretending to like the same game being re-realeased each year? “
.
👆👆So said a CoD player 🤣

Edit: now I’m curious as to how the halo tv series affected the sales of the halo game 🤔

Lightning7716d ago

@cosmic That's pretty much implied. Keep doing the same thing because it makes the company money forget my entertainment as long as they get richer. Instead of demanding more. If this was anyone else there would be backlash and it would be real that's a fact.

In a nutshell yes that is good the game is getting more attention more than ever thanks to the show I understand and acknowledge that. I'm saying all it promotes is more re-releases and remasters from games that don't need it.

Chevalier16d ago

"I'm saying all it promotes is more re-releases and remasters from games that don't need it."

Nah this is just short sited idiocy. Remasters and re-releases are a thing because the cost of making games is out of hand.

Also a large portion of these sales are to completely new customers. Add in that it's very profitable as shown by these sales. So that's 3 solid reasons to do what they did.

anast16d ago

If true this means that game companies would need to make a successful mini-series for every remaster to pull these kinds of numbers.

16d ago
Lightning7715d ago (Edited 15d ago )

"Allot of gamers my complain and cry" it's literally in your own freakin words kid... How come nobody can see.. It's n4g not the brightest ppl in the world after all. That much as always ring true.

"👆👆So said a CoD player 🤣"

I don't play COD. What are you talking about? Yeah idc about halo TV or anything like that.

"Nah this is just short sited idiocy.'

Says the number on guy in that category. More money in remasters means more remasters... Simple

Cool let's all pretend to get excited for another game that doesn't need a remaster. You freakin fanboys ruin everything with yalls corporate boot licking BS....

Will HBO make a season 3 without Sony? They did with Game of Thrones after all.

S2Killinit16d ago

Why would they make it without Sony?

Grilla16d ago

I thought part 2 was 2 seasons, seasons 2 and 3. Season 4 wouldn’t have any source material unless ND made part 3 by then.

88316d ago

SPOILER (sort of):

Season 2 did not come close to completing the story of the 2nd game...

StormSnooper16d ago

They will continue the story passed what was created for the games. Sony is the one making the series. Is it possible that the series goes in a new direction? Yeah. But who knows.

LucasRuinedChildhood16d ago (Edited 16d ago )

@StormSnooper

Neil Druckmann said in an interview with Colin Moriarty that they're not going beyond the story of TLOU2 for the show.

Relientk7716d ago

You definitely didn't watch the show. They split the 2nd game into two seasons. If you played the 2nd game it actually makes sense.

lukasmain16d ago

It will be 3 season for game 2. Ending after season 4

franwex15d ago

You’re correct. I saw the first season, but I lost interest in the second season. Not due to the controversy of the second game-I actually like it. Mostly due to not being in the mood for a downer of a show at the moment. But I’ll check it out later.

lukasmain16d ago

Game 2 will finish in the show by the time season 4 ends. And no, they won't go on after that. Not unless there is another game

MrNinosan15d ago

Season 2, 3 and 4 will cover The Last of Us Part 2.

And no, Sony and Neil will be there all the way.

Scissorman16d ago

This isn't an argument for the low-hanging fruit, but this here is exactly why Sony - and others - will keep producing them. Dev costs are low. Profitability is high. It's low risk, high reward. And given the skyrocketing costs in the AAA space, projects like this help fund future titles. I don't like it, and I'd much rather Sony - and others - release new titles, but I sure as hell understand why it happens.

anast16d ago

A mini-series had to be made for this to happen.

PhillyDonJawn16d ago

Whats the point of making new games when you can keep releasing old ones 😂 they keep buying so why not?

S2Killinit16d ago

Soooo all those people talking trash are pretty surprised eh?

Eonjay16d ago

They want to tell you what yo think, who to hate and what to buy.

Review - The Last of Us Part II: Remastered (PC) | WayTooManyGames

WTMG's Kyle Nicol: "The Last of Us Part II: Remastered is a beautiful mess. An ambitious title that had all the right ingredients, but didn’t always pan out the way it should. The excellent survival action gameplay that showcases humanity’s brutality is often let down by a story that is trying too much and has poor pacing. Thankfully, Part II’s debut on PC improves on the last game, making it the best place to play, even with its imperfections."

If the story is deeply flawed to the blogger and it's a story game, how does the blogger justify giving it a 9? A deep flaw is unacceptable in any part of the game. If everything else was perfect, it would be an 8 game. Deep flaws are foundational issues.

Let me help:

Graphics: 10

Sound: 10

Story: 8 (Overreliance on flashbacks. While the story beats are properly paced and the plot points are generally pacy, it tries to tell 2 stories at once, which led to a structural issue in the overall story, but despite this the message and mood are striking relevant.)

Gameplay: 8 (Turning in the game is awkward and it gets in the way or searching for stuff and the quick turn in combat doesn't feel intuitive.)

Overall: 9

PhillyDonJawn16d ago (Edited 16d ago )

How tf a game with 8 gameplay and 8 story get a 9 overall? Graphics and sound does not! Make up for that. Gameplay and story hold way more weight than graphics and sound.

The Last of Us™ Part II Remastered 2025 PC 4K (No DLSS) Incredible Forest Graphics

CG says: In this video, we take a look at the same forest section on horseback in The Last of Us™ Part II Remastered that we showcased in 2020 on the PS4 Pro. It’s an amazing bit of exposition with not much happening aside from a bit of banter. However, taking it slowly rather than galloping past, the forest graphics are actually pretty detailed. One of the more beautiful moments from the game. PS4 Pro version holds-up pretty well (that output was upscaled 4K and back then, there was no DLSS or AI interventions that we know about).

The video is HDR hence why the playback looks off in SDR mode.
