CC writes, "With the recent launch of The Legend of Heroes: Trails through Daybreak, plenty of folks are asking where to start playing the storied franchise. We've got you covered."
The Legend of Heroes: Trails Through Daybreak 2 is available now on Nintendo Switch, PS4 (PlayStation 4), PS5 (PlayStation 5), and PC (Steam, Epic Games Store, and GOG.
Trails Through Daybreak II captivates players from the start with a compelling opening, setting the stage for another adventure in Calvard’s underworld. As a sequel, it refines its predecessor’s combat mechanics and expands player options in meaningful ways. However, while the gameplay sees notable improvements, the narrative falters at times, struggling with pacing and focus. The result is a mixed experience—one that excels in combat depth but falls short of delivering a consistently engaging story.
A more personal story that doesn’t move the needle in the overall Calvard saga much.
I’ve played them except for Daybreak which I’ll play soon
I'm still hoping the sky trilogy gets remastered or something for console. So I'm waiting to start there. I do have them all though just waiting
I think they are good but not the best, they re-use so much stuff that it gets boring. I was burnt just by playing Cold Steel and I didn't play it back to back...They need to upgrade visuals and combat.
I started with Cold Steel 1-4, then I took a step back and played Zero and Azure to get a better handle on the Crossbell story. I'm now in the middle of Reverie but took a break to play some other games for a while. I'll get back into Reverie soon and then onto Daybreak. Great storytelling and great characters in this series.
