Star Wars Outlaws Wants to Be Your Dream 'Open Galaxy' | IGN

How Massive Entertainment built the first open world Star Wars game, and what you'll be doing in it.

Rebel_Scum301d ago

Good write but we’ll see. It is Ubi after all. The writing and mission structure has been garbage for years

smolinsk301d ago

Looks so good. And it's a game from developer Massive entertainment so I have hope.

peppeaccardo301d ago

Impossible ... I am already committed to the loading screens of Starfield ! :? JK

MetroidFREAK21301d ago

Yeah, but it requires internet to install the game with the physical disc. That alone makes it an instant pass

REDGUM301d ago

And yet you wrote that comment using just that..... Internet.
Hmmm

He doesn't pay for N4G access, if N4G disappears, he's lost nothing.

If someone buys this game and loses access because their internet is down, or Ubisoft servers are down from hacking or DDOS, etc. then, we don't have what we paid for because of DRM B.S.

Furthermore, we can't support this because companies will always push us a little bit further. People who try to defend this because "Its just for installation." don't think about the future as these trash companies will keep edging closer to more and more DRM on console.

Far too many ignore the very real 'slippery slope' we're heading towards, they only think about the here and now, and once they push too far, its too late to go back, they expect us to get used to it.

Ubisoft can F off.

MetroidFREAK21301d ago

That's not the point. Imagine buying a physical copy of a single player game that you cannot play without mandatory updates years down the road after the update servers are dead. The disc will be useless. These types of games are bad for the industry, preservation and consumers. The fact you can't see that makes me sad, but it definitely won't be the last time I say it. Screw these types of releases

REDGUM301d ago (Edited 301d ago )

If you read up on this 'major issue ' that you guys are all talking about, the internet requirement is ONLY needed to install the game NOT play the game.
Once the game is installed it's on you're system and internet is no longer required.
Seems like too many jump the gun around here.

"Ubisoft confirmed with IGN that an internet connection is required to install Star Wars Outlaws and its updates, but otherwise, you'll be free to play offline."
Taken from Ubisoft themselves in an IGN interview.

MetroidFREAK21301d ago (Edited 301d ago )

Again, that's not the point. What are you not getting??? Games shouldn't need internet to be installed. Hell, even online only games like Helldivers 2 and Exoprimal for example can be installed offline. Do you see the flaw? Once the servers go offline in the future and then you decide to buy the game, it's a useless piece of plastic

Still. Not. Getting. It. 🤣

Stuff that should have been in the base game. Probably would have had better sales, too.

YourMommySpoils25d ago

Don't think even that would have helped this borefest of the least Star Wars experience in history of gaming.

coolbeans25d ago

Nah. The Outlaws base game isn't starved of content. Its more the lacking quality-of-life features at launch and a design template that's fundamentally confused.

-Foxtrot25d ago

The first thing we see Hondo Ohnaka in for a while since Rebels / The Clone Wars and it's for this...

He's such a great character, I thought he'd have been included in something better. Hopefully we see him in Ahsoka Season 2 or the Mandalorian and Grogu film.
