why they put she/here and he/him before everything,

Cacabunga318d ago

because a woman is a she/her and a man is a he/him.. surprised?

H9318d ago

That's exactly why you shouldn't be putting pronouns to begin with

PRIMORDUS318d ago

Exactly, dick = man, pussy = woman, looks like everyone failed sex ed. 🤣 I will never ever acknowledge anything other than the above she/her, he/him.

outsider1624318d ago

Isn't Male and Female enough?

mkis007317d ago

primordus

What about intersex? They physically don't always conform to that but sometimes they do.

ChronoJoe318d ago

Probably to establish the gender identity of the characters? Not complicated for most of us.

purple101318d ago (Edited 318d ago )

why would one need to establish a gender identity for each of the characters?

Huey_My_D_Long318d ago (Edited 318d ago )

@purple101 i mean, establishing an identity to help flesh out more details for who a character is, is kinda the point, and establishing the gender identity is only one facet of the characters identity thats being established at that time

why does this particular facet of a characters identity upset you so much?
I mean I know why

ChronoJoe318d ago

Are things really that difficult for you purple? Don't ask questions in bad faith.

I don't need to answer you. We know why this is confusing for you. You're a bigot.

PRIMORDUS318d ago

Is this really needed? Is it that hard to tell man from woman? Please do not argue with science🤣 This pronoun shit is really get beyond retarded in everything.

HankHill318d ago

You're an angry she/her, huh?

Charlieboy333317d ago

If you are a person that feels you need to establish gender identity for a videogame character to be meaningful to you, you are a fuckup.

LordoftheCritics318d ago

Some people don't have visual intelligence so they need identifying tags.

Please have compassion for those suffering from this.

Sonic1881318d ago

The same way I feel about Call of Duty

PRIMORDUS318d ago

I been saying that on here for a few yrs lol along with COD and Assassins Creed.

edeprez318d ago (Edited 318d ago )

Yeah UBI sucks now. I loved the older style games, up to black flag. Then they kinda copied Dark souls combat a bit with origins, it was fun for a little, but the boredom set in fast. They're way too big, the writing is terrible. There's never a story or side character that's good enough to care about. It's all by the numbers, development by committee in a boardroom garbage in every title. Plus they all feel so similar and dumbed down. Even far cry here isn't fun without the crafting and skill upgrades from FC3.

Ubisoft needs to fire like 3/4 of their staff especially corporate people. Whittle it down to just the talented, creative devs with a passion, and let them make their own creative decisions. They're just too big, working with bloated teams all over the world trying to make games together virtually, with crappy communication I'm guessing. Oh, and fire anyone who tries to put their real world political views into fictional works of art.

glennhkboy317d ago

Origin was Ubisoft last great game. Period. :)

Gameseeker_Frampt318d ago

I don't understand why people who get upset about pronouns are the first ones to correct you if you use the wrong one. I'm sure you're a nice girl but would probably get offended when someone started using he/him when addressing you.

MajorLazer318d ago

Well she was born a woman so why wouldn't she be offended if someone called her a man.

HankHill318d ago

Did you just assume their gender? Wow!

Gameseeker_Frampt318d ago

I like how both of you just proved my point. MajorLazer thinks pronouns don't matter unless you use the wrong one and HankHill thinks pronouns don't matter but is shocked when someone assumes one's gender.

H9317d ago

Just like you now, people thought I was a girl whenever I answered the phone and that's alright, my problem with pronouns that it's used as a symbol for transgender and nonbinary movement as if you can choose what your pronouns are!

Ubisoft said the character is female and then said she/her, that's unnecessary and part of the movement, saying that she is female is all you need to know and that's it

Noskypeno317d ago

H9, same thing happened to me. Sometimes my voice can sound a little bit feminine and they call me mam, not once do I get angry or call it a crime to misgender me.

Rutaprkl317d ago

Yeah pathetic af. Well, good reason to skip this turd, as well as nearly all Ubisoft games.

Gameseeker_Frampt317d ago

If you're male why do you use a female profile pic on n4g?

H9316d ago

That's not female that's Oberon from FGO, and even if it was female I can use a female character that I like as a profile picture while being man, my profile picture represents what I like not who I truly am!

MeatyUrologist318d ago

Seems legit to me. All male characters categorized as "egotistical, ruthless, vindictive, narcissistic, vengeful, tyrranical" and the females are "ambitious, self-reliant, witty, resilient, non-conforming, determined and intelligent. Yep all checks out as a Ubisoft game.

Huey_My_D_Long318d ago (Edited 318d ago )

Not all the characters, or that those are the only 2 "categorization" present, but people just have to exaggerate :)

MajorLazer318d ago

None of the men are written positively. Not a single one.

Noskypeno317d ago

The character Brie sounds like a bit of a jerk, but yeah I can see them going with a toxic masculinity story and if the females do bad stuff, it's only because the males brainwashed them.

Far Cry 7 Plot Leaks Hint At New England Setting

Leaks regarding the plot of Far Cry 7 have hinted at new characters and a New England setting.

OtterX77d ago

I laughed pretty hard at this, ty!! 🤣

GamerRN77d ago

I'll be happy if they just ground it a little more like 5 did. I don't want Just Cause-like rocket backpacks.

spicelicka77d ago

New England? Sounds boring aesthetically. Still there are soo many better settings to choose from. The Alps, the Andes, Australia, and so much more in Asia and Africa.

GhostScholar77d ago

There are actually beautiful things in that area of the country.

spicelicka77d ago (Edited 77d ago )

I'm sure there are beautiful things but I live in the same type of environment and I can tell you it's nowhere near some of the locations I mentioned, not to mention there's a lack of diversity. They've done Montana which has almost the same environments except bigger and better.

Profchaos77d ago (Edited 77d ago )

Yeah can imagine feel like we already got a US game they should move the franchise somewhere else

Edit I originally missed the new and I thought it was just England which I was equally like meh about

As an Aussie though I don't think Australia would make all that good a spot for a far cry game it'd have to be entirely outback based or bushland which would need to be exaggerated to buggery and blended which isn't something they typically do in the franchise

spicelicka76d ago (Edited 76d ago )

I think exaggerating and blending isn't a big deal if it's in favour of environmental diversity, just takes creativity. They didn't really do central cities before until Far cry 6, and didn't do ancient stone age until Primal. No reason to restrict themselves to what's "typical" especially if it's their chance to reboot the franchise anyway. You have dry outback environments, mountains, beaches, rainforest, and such diverse wildlife which is a big part of Far cry. They could even split it over 3 locations and include Tanzania and New Zealand. Anything is better than New England.

isarai77d ago

It's even in the title 🤣 like Far Cry is literally referring to the premise that you're supposed to be in a dangerous situation a FAR CRY from anything safe or familiar and you have to adapt. New England is like super tame and very familiar as it's not really distinct in any way

Rebel_Scum76d ago

Australia as a landscape to travel in is generally pretty boring tbh

-Foxtrot77d ago

This just sounds like Far Cry 5.5

porkChop77d ago

That's what I was thinking. I was hoping for something like Australia, Spain, or Portugal.

isarai77d ago

I hope they actually try with this one instead of repeatedly just Frankensteining Fc3s corpse into something "new" like literally every entry since 3

Profchaos77d ago

Bring back jack and the mutants

The_Blue77d ago

May work if it has a Black lead...
s/

isarai77d ago

I mean FC2 had nearly every major ethnic branch to choose from. Man i miss FC2, that era of Ubisoft was amazing

cluclap76d ago

Really bro? Shouldn't matter what color the lead is as long as the game is good.

Far Cry 7: The Case For a Complete Switch to Third Person

The next Far Cry game has been the subject of speculation, and its predecessor makes a solid argument for full-blown third-person.

PrecursorOrb117d ago

It needs a solid argument for a reboot and a release every four or so years

RaidenBlack117d ago (Edited 117d ago )

Well every mainline FC is kinda its own thing ... so reboot for this franchise makes less sense.
And I also support the every 3-4 years idea for both AC and FC. And that's kinda exactly the situation now for FC.
FC6 came out in 2021. If we aren't counting 2023's Avatar (lol, obvs), then even if FC7 comes out in 2025, there's still minimum 4 years gap between the mainline releases. Hope it stays that way i.e.
FC6 got no spin-off like FC3, 4, 5.

PrecursorOrb115d ago

It’s crazy that they take off that long for far cry and it still feels like a reskin. I haven’t felt real innovation in that series since 3. Every assassins creed has felt bloated now and the only one in recent memory that wasn’t was mirage but that one felt pretty boring to me as well since it was the exact same formula from the others. I wish they could make climbing feel new again like it felt in the very first creed game

Hereandthere117d ago

First Person games are limited, far cry should have always been 3rd person.

Rebel_Scum117d ago

Dont see how the switch would make it better tbh.

Green-Smurf117d ago (Edited 117d ago )

I said this about Halo. They should have made a 3rd person Halo because I never felt like the badass they portrayed master Chief to be playing through his eyes. I would've loved to have seen the CQC, cover shots, ground pound, and stealth kills from a 3rd person perspective. When you played as Marcus Fenix, you felt that shit. You saw what a bad mf he was.

GhostScholar117d ago

I don’t want third person. I’d like a far cry in a frozen third world New York with sort of the tone of the division.

RaidenBlack117d ago (Edited 117d ago )

Some IPs are defined by the vision perspective and FC is one of them.
Plus, difference/uniqueness will diminish between FC and AC(within Ubi umbrella, minus guns) or Division or Just Cause or even like Days Gone.
Plus, FC is one of the few first-person IPs at Ubi. They already converted Ghost Recon to 3rd Person.
And Wildlands & Breakpoint were Ubi's 3rd person Far Cry(s), lol.

Far Cry 7’s ‘Game Over’ Screen Can’t Literally Be a Game Over Screen

While Ubisoft may be taking a risk with one rumored Far Cry 7 mechanic, it needs to pay dividends even if players fail in the game.

You know what the problem is with Ubisoft? They ran their big IPs into the ground. I should be excited about a Far Cry 7, but it just feels like the same old Turkey Sandwich. I don’t want to knock it before seeing anything, I hadn’t been interested in an Ass Creed game until Shadows was shown, but whenever they announce a new Ass Creed, a new Ghost Recon, and new Far Cry, etc., it’s just impossible for me to really get hyped.

jambola120d ago

yeah
even for me, who latched onto this franchise longer than a lot of people
6 was pretty dull and it's hard to care

RaidenBlack120d ago (Edited 120d ago )

Last FarCry I sorta got hyped for was 4 (FC2 is still goat, followed by FC3)
FC5 felt too bloated and FC6 felt like Just Cause in first person with a pet crocodile
ngl, I am a bit eager to see what FC7's about (not the time gimmick but the other stuffs). Tom Henderson's been hyping it. He aint that fake.
GhostRecon Breakpoint felt like vomit at some points but reading all the rumors about GR going old-school for next one also has my interest peaked a little bit.
And the recent AC Shadows combat and parkour gameplay videos are surprisingly decent tho, ngl

Trilithon120d ago

i agree. I remember watching tech demos being super hyped about assasins creed 2 and the farcry map editor etc.

today i feel nothing for ubisoft. wheres the originality, wheres the innovation, wheres the fun...

ubisoft will never get my money every again.

northpaws119d ago

Ya, their games are not as fun as they used to be, which is a shame, because I do appreciate their efforts of keep making single player games.

Profchaos119d ago (Edited 119d ago )

Yeah I was actually a fan of watch dogs it was never GTA level but it didn't need to be and then 3 came out as a busted experiment was totally garbage and they shelved the franchise as a result claiming it's got no fan interest it would have plenty of interest if they didn't throw in their experimental play as anyone crap that was never going to work

C-H-E-F118d ago

Agreed, my issue with Assassins Creed is that on the PS3, it blew up my PS3 Fat 60gb, it took Sony 5 months to warranty it then as soon as I put it back in to play it blew up my second PS3 (actually caught fire on both of my PS3's). Then on my PS4 I forgot the first AC to come out on the PS4, I had bought that one, and it bricked my PS4. So I vowed to never buy another AC game again. Maybe i'm just cursed LOL.

As far as FC, FC was an amazing game, but the storylines aren't intriguing anymore. It's only so many times you can have the same storyline arch. Also the voice acting isn't that good. I believe FC3 was the last good FC. I've bought all of the others except the one with the cave people and they were all flat no depth.

Ghost Recon, I'm not going to lie, I didn't like breakpoint when it first came out, but after they did all of the updates to it, the game became my favorite military game (I managed to platinum it).

I think the issue with Ubisoft games (including the crew) is that they make these super larger games that aren't immersive. You don't feel connected to the world the same way you feel connected to San Andreas, Vice City or Liberty City. You don't feel connected to the characters or the characters story. You just feel like you're in a world doing things.

The division 2, for myself is following the Ubisoft formula as well. The Division was amazing, The Division II I struggled getting through it. I just didn't care about the storyline, characters, the world, anything.

It's like they try to fool us with a massive world, to distract us from the lack of depth of storyline, voice acting, gameplay mechanics etc.

stloony120d ago

If they would allow a coapp player to actually go wherever they want....then they would get paid.

Fonsecap120d ago

At this rate, Ubisoft will the one to get a Game Over screen

chicken_in_the_corn120d ago (Edited 120d ago )

I doubt the game will just end when the timer runs out. I'm sure it will continue without limits but will alter the story and change the ending.

Demetrius120d ago

Ubisoft has to learn it's half way to ps6/next xbox gen, make a thoroughly made gem already. Sheesh they rush way too much
