It makes sense for a few reasons.

1) the games reputation has only grown through the years as the best if not one of the better Mario RPG like games

2) the GameCube sold 21.7 million units to date the switch is still growing and at last count was 147 million units.

That’s how math works. You sell more consoles, you typically sell more games.

That's not math, that's economics.

Oddly enough I am having a hard time getting into it. Loved the original game and like origami king well enough... nothing has hooked me yet on TYD

Can only assume it's like watching a movie you might love it the first time but can't rewatch it as it holds no more surprises I feel like that with a lot of games like I can't replay until dawn as an example even though I loved it

It helps to go really long periods between play throughs for me, I very rarely replay games (I think Ocarina of Time is the only game I've played 5 or 6 times because my saves got deleted).

I mean paper ? Mario 1 on n64...so much nostalgia for that one... I never played this one so I'm having trouble getting hooked.

The platform breakdowns really show how irrelevant xbox has come for selling software.

1 Hogwarts Legacy Switch 41%, PS5 26%, PS4 24%, Xbox 5%

2 EA Sports FC 24 Switch 34%, PS5 28%, PS4 26%, Xbox 12%

Yea, you can see why some developers and publishers are increasingly starting to skip XBox all together. Unless you're in a small minority of successful and highly played Gamepass games, you're pretty much taking a payout on your game just to rot and die on the service.

Not that surprising, the Switch has some killer exclusive titles, so people have to own a Switch to play them.
