"A woman looking for a job in gamedev was asked by the recruiter for a naked sauna session as one of the conditions of employment."

I don't know...

gold_drake29d ago (Edited 29d ago )

is a pretty simple word imo

Mr_cheese29d ago

If you saying no to getting naked in a sauna results in you not getting a job, it's an issue.

purple10130d ago

but they do sauna all the time in Finland, Sweden all those countries, right>>? hehe

CrimsonWing6929d ago (Edited 29d ago )

Ok, say no and find a different job?

Christopher29d ago

Love how people don't understand a person in the position to hire is forcing women into uncomfortable situations if they need a job.

Can they say no? Sure, but the point is that they either do it or lose out on a job. That's not how it should be and is a legal suit in many countries for doing it to begin with.

Also, the logic that he can't see them writing about sauna's without experiencing it nude and with him? Yeah, that's how it works. Only murderers write about murder.

Yea it’s pretty fucked either way you slice it.

Fallout London: 'If it's an awful launch we'll probably all just go to sleep'

"What we want is to speak to a decision-maker, because if we could make it a standalone thing with their [Bethesda’s] permission, that means that people on gaming consoles could use it, which they currently can’t."

Unlikely. To be standalone it would have to be published on the PS/XB stores. The FOLON devs don't have a publishing license on either store. I don't see how they would actually expect Bethesda to go out of their way to not only publish the standalone mod for them, which isn't free, but also grant them a license to legally use and market the Fallout name.

Every time I see an interview from these modders they sound more and more entitled. Like when they were pissed off that Bethesda didn't tell them when the next gen update was releasing. Saying they were a big, popular mod and should have gotten a phone call. Sorry bud, you're talented and your mod looks great, but you're not some rockstar dev that deserves special treatment.

MeteorPanda1d 13h ago

Id say theyre more focused and dedicated than a triple a dev team

You do this level of work for free

porkChop22h ago

1) That has literally nothing to do with what I said. I never once criticized their focus or work ethic. I literally praised their talent as devs and I am absolutely going to play the mod.

2) They technically aren't doing it for free. They have a patreon that has more than 1,000 members.

RaidenBlack1d 11h ago

"If we could" ... doesn't read entitled
They know the request's not usual but they just want to try their luck ...
Valve has been doing it since ages.
And they did hefty bit of work for the mod ... all they asked previously was just a prior official communication for a smoother initial intended launch and now some recognition, thats all.

MeteorPanda18h ago

Regarding your "l didnt say anything"

"Sorry bud, you're talented and your mod looks great, but you're not some rockstar dev that deserves special treatment. "

It sounds like you're just comparing them to a person who mods some female models in. Their mods are hard work and updates knwn in advance can really help keeping their mod from falling apart. IT REALLY isn't too much to ask for a dev or spokesperson from bethesda to give them an email for a contact person.

Bit unfair that. Publishers have their ear firmly to the ground when there are copyright claims/infractions etc. Like act pretty quick, but in this instance a little unfair of them to not give a heads-up to a well-known and highly anticipated project. It's not like it's just a some random clothing item or a single new quest. it's way more than that which is plain to see.
