Max Caulfield’s LiS return is a cause of celebration and pessimism, some fans applaud her return, while others give Deck Nine the side eye.
Lost Records teases a sequel I actually want to play.
Looking for a story-driven game where your choices shape the narrative? Craving a cinematic experience that feels like an interactive movie? Dive into Life is Strange: Double Exposure, crafted by Square Enix.
TNS: "Life is Strange: Double Exposure fans are getting contacted by Square Enix to give their feedback about the game."
I think most people just don't want more Life is Strange games. It's a niche market. Very niche.
If they don't know why their sales are poor and weren't able to project this, they need to look internally.
I loved LiS 1 and 2, played the second one with my teenage daughter and it was heartwarming. However, I found 3 to be very slow and it required more commitment to get involved I think. We only played the first chapter.
Personally I thought that the point of Life is Strange was to tell realistic experiences with the twist being they have powers. But this one seems to be some sort of murder mystery from the get go. The first game was also somewhat a murder mystery, but more about Max trying to change everything around her for the better and only making everything worse. I really like the first two games, tried Colours and it was pure cringe, Before the Storm had the soul of the series, this I'm not sure of.
I loved LiS, BtS and True Colours. LiS2 wasn't the same but eh, 3/4 ain't bad. That said, I feel bringing Max back is unnecessary. The split decision at the end of the original game means either Max wiped out a town or she saved Chloe. This could be addressed within "multiple worlds/ parallel universes" etc but even then I think that takes away the emotional impact of the choice. Max and Chloe's story is done, a new protagonist would be just fine.
