Chronicles of Riddick: Escape from Butcher Bay - 20 Years of the Surprisingly Good Film Adaptation

Chronicles of Riddick: Escape from Butcher Bay debuted 20 years ago, and to this day is a surprisingly good film franchise adaptation.

porkChop340d ago

I'd love a remaster of both games with 4K, raytracing, and the ability to have both AA and AO at the same time.

Petebloodyonion340d ago

Remasters were made for Xbox 360 and PS3 in 2009 Chronicles of Riddick Assault on Dark Athena

porkChop339d ago

It was a remaster of the first game, plus a sequel. The sequel was never remastered though. In the PC version you couldn't even have AA and AO, you had to choose one or the other. You can't buy it anymore either on PC.

MrBaskerville340d ago

MS owns the developer, if only they wanted to bother with the license, could be a nice addition to Series X BC program. These titles and Arx Fatalis.

Petebloodyonion340d ago

Microsoft does not own Starbreeze Studios; it is owned by Digital Bros through its subsidiary, 505 Games.
Tigon Studios, founded by Vin Diesel, primarily develops games featuring him and holds licenses related to these games.

MrBaskerville335d ago (Edited 335d ago )

My bad, I though machinegames was a rebranded Starbreeze. But might just be ex-starbreeze people.

But Arx Fatalis still stands. Make it happen!

ZwVw340d ago

You're thinking about MachineGames (Wolfenstein) which was formed by several ex Starbreeze staff after Assault on Dark Athena was released (whose owned by Zenimax/Bethesda), now owned by MS.

Great games, wish they would make another.

Seven Games I Would Love to See Remade, Remastered, or at Least Re-Released

Some games of yesteryear were just ahead of their time. So Half-Glass Gaming takes a moment to wax poetically about some favorites from a bygone era and whip up a list of games we would love to see remakes of.

Had a lot of fun with Scarface. That was around the peak of GTA clones. The amount of them has decreased substantially.

roadkillers1212d ago (Edited 1212d ago )

I agree, the side jobs of selling drugs was a blast.

porkChop1212d ago

GTA 4 actually got some of the ideas for the new wanted system from Scarface.

-Foxtrot1212d ago

Beyond Good and Evil would be fantastic

Simpsons Hit and Run, expanded with new areas from the newer seasons and with all the hubs joining on from one another to make one massive open world game

Bugs Bunny Lost in Time / Bugs Bunny and Taz: Time Busters

Sheep, Dog n Wolf (Sheep Raider)

Toy Story 2

Legend of Dragoon

Some of my "out there" picks anyway...

isarai1212d ago

Ape Escape series
B.L.A.C.K.
Path of Neo
Max Payne trilogy (or at least 1&2) BY ANYONE OTHER THAN GROVESTREET GAME FFS!
Oasis
Rise of the Argonauts
Killzone 2
F.E.A.R.

Just off the top of my head

Profchaos1212d ago

Yup max Payne 1 by Grove St games would be the mobile version they did which dropped the difficulty to none existant just in 4k unfortunately.

FPS_D3TH1212d ago

I would’ve added stalker but were thankfully getting a sequel soon. This would be my list

FEAR
Max Payne 1 & 2
Blood
Freedom Fighters
Syphon Filter
Dino Crisis

Eidolon1212d ago

Dino Crisis Remake, hell yeah. Like RE2/3 remake would be great.

Eidolon1212d ago

PC has Mods, Xbox Series X has (4K?)/60fps. For consoles this would probably come down to deeper visual quality and quality of life improvements in one package, like the treatment Mass Effect trilogy got.

Yui_Suzumiya1212d ago

I want it specifically on Switch though.. now later this year I plan on getting a Series X and I'll enjoy it there as well. My main problem is the fact that Bethesda has re-released Skyrim on nearly every console for 3 generations yet they haven't done anything with Fallout 3 or New Vegas. Those are just as popular as Skyrim so why haven't they been Remastered for all the current or even last gen consoles yet? I feel like us Fallout fans are getting the short end of the stick here.

Butcher Bay is still an awesome game. Ghost Rider surprised me with how good it was, very GoW like. Warriors is another great one but with the exception of R&C, i havent played the others.

Was getting "page not found" until I turned on VPN. Any reason for this, culturedvultures?

Ranking every game with Vin Diesel from worst to best

From Xfire: "Video game enthusiast and Hollywood superstar, Vin Diesel, has taken his talents to video games numerous times. We've decided to rank all of his games from the worst to the best."

“Ranking every game with Vin Diesel from terrible to bad”

Fixed the title for you.

Venoxn4g1404d ago

Yes it is..such a great game

bunt-custardly1404d ago

Obviously too young or ill-informed to pass judgement. Honestly, Orchard. You just mugged yourself off. Starbreeze Studios' The Chronicles of Riddick: Escape from Butcher Bay is a very well-known classic.

rlow11404d ago

Butcher Bay was great. From the prolog, fist fighting, knife fights and story. The immersion of the whole package really uped the criteria of what a cutting edge game was back then. I would like another adventure with Riddick, but it would have to be triple A status to live up to Butcher Bay.

shaenoide1404d ago

You can't you. There isn't any good game :p

boing11404d ago

Butcher's Bay, man. A classic. One of the few games I finished in one sitting.
