Mothers Against Drunk Driving Oppose Anti-Drunk Driving Game

MADD is an organization created specifically to discourage drunk driving. A game in development called Booze Cruise is being designed to discourage drunk driving as well. Seems like these two should get along, right?

It turns out MADD Canada isn't happy about the game. "We've spent decades telling people not to drink and drive, and this simulator, one of the skills it teaches is to drink so much, and then drive," CEO of MADD Canada Andrew Murie said.

Problem with organizations like this is they are to high strung. If they would just embrace it they might get their message across to many more people.

I feel these organizations are so useless.

Although I do agree that people shouldn't drink and drive. My friend lost his brother because of a drunk driver hit him on the wrong side of the freeway.

But organizations like MADD is really a waste of everyone's time. Instead of b*ching and complaining about video games, they need to saddle up in their cars at 12am and start hunting down drunk drivers themselves. Call 911 and get the police to handle it.

Put that energy into good use.

This problem exists with many huge organizations (like MADD), is that they are so much apart of the public consciouness that what they say just starts go over people heads. They become invisible so they have to become more and more vocal on what ever relates to their cause (global warming, PETA). All you have to do is ignore them. They will go back to spending all of their donated money on fundraising parties.
