Refund everyone and kill this game off.

Nah. Just like with the 60FPS update, it'd be reputationally better for Arkane to follow through to include these two heroes and *then* stop making updates.

One of the few industries where you can actually steal from the customers and it's considered okay.

Tedakin416d ago

Seriously, or release a broken product day 1 with the promise to fix it later. Imagine buying a new refrigerator and the ice maker and light don't work, and they say "we'll send a guy out to your house in 2 months to fix it." Gaming is the only industry where this is accepted.

Profchaos416d ago

I have a feeling after stop killing games there's a lot of governing bodies starting to cast their eyes over the industry. Likely Europen and certainly in Australia where consumer rights are strongest.

Customer pays for something it's not delivered customer needs to be reimbursed

More proof you should never buy day one, especially on that console, it is sad how they’ve treated their fans this generation.

They hype and tease products but fail to deliver mediocrity at a time in the industry where the playing field is more level than ever and most games score a 7 or 8.

This was a disgusting money grab to not only put out what they knew was an inferior product, but to then offer more expensive versions for the “real fans” is a rip off.

Consumer confidence needs to be restored over at that money hat corporation if they ever want me to buy an Xbox again. The one game they have that I really want to play, Flight Sim with the new update, is also being held back on consoles so that the dlc plane money keeps flowing on PC. When will they release this game on console properly? Just sad and sketchy moves this Gen.

No, every Xbox game that releases is in Beta but it’s okay bc Gamepass. After a year of patches the game officially launches, Starfield just came out of Beta. I’ll buy Xbox at the end of the generation and all the games will finally be “complete” and a fraction of the price.

antikbaka416d ago

came out of alfa and now it's in beta*

oh come on, stop that starfield copium

VersusDMC417d ago

The Bite Back edition is still up for sale so i doubt they aren't working on it. It will probably be dropped at the next xbox showcase for marketing purposes.

But it has to get released. The game bombing can't be an excuse as the Forespoken season pass content got released.

Forespoken was an actual finished game and that dumpster fire Anthem.

Concord, Suicide Squad, Fairgame$ And ‘Vibes-Based’ Failures

Paul Tassi: "Sony recently reiterated its commitment to live service games with one big hit last year (Helldivers 2), one big cancellation (The Last of Us Factions) and one big failure (Concord). It’s no great surprise it is continuing down this road, given the way the industry is trending and the limited shelf life of its famed single player games. But it immediately made me think of a game that Sony is allegedly releasing that I have to believe is pre-destined to fail, Fairgame$."

Alos88173d ago

Fairgame$ feels like it's destined to flop out the gate- that initial trailer felt full of that same instantly-dated 'fight The Man with a ragtag team of weirdos' energy that was prevalent in Sega's Hyenas (which they wisely cancelled.) Unlike Marathon I just don't see this standing a chance.

Nacho_Z173d ago

It will definitely flop, missed the boat by a couple of years. Agreed that Marathon has a decent chance of succeeding it looks genuinely good and interesting.

It can't be sustainable having all these expensive GaaS being DOA being balanced by the odd modest success like Helldivers. The aim is to find the new Fortnite or whatever but it's highly unlikely and seems to be a massive waste of money.

Concord and the Other Biggest Flops of This Generation

Some of the biggest success stories in the history of gaming have happened during this generation of gaming. At the same time, some of the biggest flops in the history of gaming have also happened during this generation of gaming. To this end, a few games particularly stick out as, unfortunately, disastrous flops for those who made the games, sold the games, and ultimately, for many that played the games.

What a strange, short list. There have been many more games that arrived DOA, were never released, didn’t make their budget back, etc. Why cherry pick these games? Is this list based on the size of internet hate boners?

EternalTitan291d ago

These flops have a similarity that you may not be allowed to point out.

Skull and Bones gets my vote, at this point just completely remake AC Black Flag. If the Concord developers had made the game free to play, and toned down the in your face messaging via the mods and design choices, this game could have been serviceable eventually. I never understand why pandering to 5% of your audience and giving the finger to the other 95% seems like a good idea to these people. They never seem to learn. Disney has lost 1/3rd of its value and they keep doubling down on political messaging. I don’t get it.

BlackTar187290d ago

Some of these companies are paid huge amounts of money to do this stuff. They get truck loads of money to give “the message”
By blackrock and vanguards and multiple other venture capitalists even though it’s been proven over and over they fail.

I'm not interested in this game but i think it's great they added the offline mode for those who are.

darthv72389d ago

It was okay at first... once they added the performance update it was definitely better.

TwoPicklesGood390d ago

Bury this turd. It’s only good as a reminder of what devs shouldn’t do.

mkis007389d ago

I hate the concept of an announced final update.
