NPD analyst Matt Piscatella has hinted at sales of Square Enix's Final Fantasy VII Rebirth having underperformed in the US.
Its a great game but the texture resolution on props/environmental assets is unacceptable I dont think its right for a AAA videogame company to put out a game for $69.99 with such low quality assets. The character models and Character textures look great but again the blurry textures on environmental assets is shocking for a game on PS5. I see hardcore FF7 fans on reddit defending the asset quality however nobody defended the apartment door textures on FF7 Remake but for some reason nobody cares about FF7 Rebirth's abundance of low quality assets.
the textures are barely that bad at all. sounds like you never played it and are just going by some random screenshots you see online.
unlike the first game where the texture issue was more glaring, i've not run into this at all in rebirth
It's funny how often the term "analyst" gets tossed around nowadays. But again, that's the only way they can remain relevant.
They should of released it on Xbox and PC as PS5 owners don't seem to buy JRPG'S. Also they could of made a deal with MS to have it on gamepass Day 1 with MS giving them a few billion to make up for sales.
Hopefully the new CEO of SE will cancel all exclusive agreements with Sony and make Part 3 and all future SE games multi-platform.
According to the devs, Final Fantasy 7 Part 3 will be "curtain call" for some of the newly introduced characters in Remake and Rebirth.

What are you talking about ?? xvi's 2nd dlc just came out and xiv's new expansion comes out in a couple months . They've been feeding us good . A triple dose of FF in a span of a few months which is basically consuming a majority of my gaming time for the rest of the year.
People love safe sequels, then complain when publishers make nothing original. They've made 1 actual mainline sequel since 15, no clever spinoffs, people forget how many games they used to make during the PS1 and 2 days. Definitely time to move on from milking 7, end it on a high note.
I agree. I love VII but this remake trilogy should be it. Please no crap like Advent Children or Dirge of Cerberus after this.
In 20 years we will get the remake of the remake of FF7. Looking forward to it.

That'll be great if ps6 had a one disc edition using that new physical media format that was announced recently.
I hope so I heard of a pb disc announcement too so it'll be perfect but I know companies afraid of the power of physical media lol.
The problem with those discs is the same as all disc formats, high seek time (latency) and low transfer rates.
Fair but discs are a way to preserve things and over time disc's do improve look at bluray to 4k bluray for example it's not like disc's can't be improved upon I rather have disc consoles with digital only consoles to create more options.
I’m 110 hours into Rebirth, I have been doing EVERY side quest, battle and exploring the map. I absolutely love the way they expanded the narrative for all characters.
Even the sub stories actually feel like they are done well with Kyrie and her grand mother. Leslie impacted by don corneo. Chadley having a connection to Hojo and more.
Barrett is such a good person caring and considerate, heck when they were in the mythril mines and Tifa was concerned for the robes. Cloud was dismissive but Barrett saw Tifas sadness and offered himself to check on them to make her feel better.
That’s one of MANY interactions that just landed for me so well. I’m so glad I chose to take my time and appreciate this game

she was already plenty powerful even without rebirth, especially if you read the novals and watched the movie.
it definetly was a battle between her and Sephiroth and cloud was just there for show ha.
the end part with Cloud basically being a puppet and Aerith knowing and playing alone...shivers.

Would be cool to see Aerith with yellow hair or blue hair yelling KAMEHAMEHA lol. Also would be cool seeing Aerith and Tifa do the fusion dance and wear the potara earrings I wonder what they would be called when fused. She all ready has the power she is literally part of the life stream of the planet.
original game has it's status because of her and last part will most likely be about finding out how to get everyone on her path of whisper white so of course she is the main character
