Following the announcement of The Matrix 5, a new Matrix game on PS5 and Xbox needs to happen, but let's leave Keanu Reeves behind.
The Xbox Series S is, on paper, every bit as feature-rich as the Series X. It's based on the same fundamental RAM, storage, CPU, and GPU technologies - which of course means that it is ray tracing capable. You can absolutely get RT acceleration on the system, just like any other RDNA 2-based hardware platform.
The S is a pretty impressive machine. I could see MS transitioning it to a more portable form factor if they so desired. Maybe even team up with Valve to make steamdeck 2 essentially a portable Series S.
Ray tracing... If the ps5 and series x got problems to have games with rt without huge drops on rez.... Why even talk about a console that most games run at dynamic 1080p... Playing games at 540p with Ray tracing like the matrix demo or fortnite... That's why almost all games don't use on the s...
You can run games at lower graphic settings on Xbox Series S, but do you want to? For $100 more, you can buy a PS5 digital that has better graphics and more hard drive space. When it comes to game consoles, less is not more. Save your pennies.
Theories are being exchanged as The Matrix Awakens is being delisted on 9 July 2022, without reason. Could a full game be on the way?
No. It's just a tech demo and that's all it was supposed to be. I'm surprised they're delisting it though.
Kojima is a big fan of the Matrix movie franchise and was tweeting out quite a few tweets before the new Matrix movie.
And this all happened before the Matrix Awakens reveal.
And I was thinking then, a Kojima directed Matrix game would be just too good. The perfect pair even?
Would be odd to see “The coalition” make multiplatform game. I don’t think the coalition will ever make a multiplatform game. I think it’s because it served its purpose already and no point to keep it up. I seriously doubt this will become a game.
CG writes: We take a quick look at The Matrix Awakens gameplay demo on PC using Unreal Engine 5. The demo originally released for Playstation 5 but is now available for PC players as part of the City Sample. The game renders at 1440p and allows for around 30 fps with ray tracing enabled. We’re using 32GB RAM and an RTX 3090 alongside an i9 9900K CPU running off an SSD.
That unreal demo was amazing, to bad it was “unreal” and stayed as a proof of concept.
I’d give anything to be able to play the mmo that came out. I was too young and has no computer…
I would love to see a new matrix game. That is indeed a game world that has plenty of story and gameplay potential.
I’ll only play a Matrix game if it has more Neo and Trinity. I saw the 4th Matrix movie and can’t tell you the names of anyone else.
Trust me, I would let this one go. There is no way any available studio that can work on this game would make a good game.
