Rogue-like Prince of Persia reportedly on the way from Dead Cells studio Evil Empire

Following its well-received Prince of Persia revival early this year, Ubisoft is reportedly readying a further series outing for a 2024 release - this time in the form of a Prince of Persia rogue-like from Evil Empire, the studio responsible for Dead Cells' impressive post-launch support.

I'm not even a big Prince of Persia fan, but a rogue-like of it sounds like it could be really cool!

OMFG man, unisoft really like to do everything with an IP except what people want. So tired if the spinoffs, crossovers, cartoons and merch on beloved IPs but no major entry

I was going to say the same thing

The sad thing is because the Lost Crown did well that’s all Ubisoft sees for the future.

So from here on out it’s all going to be about more sequels of that and spin offs

Meanwhile the remake we all want was given to a poorly skilled support studio in India who have never done a game before themselves. Ubisoft gave it to them to be cheap, get it out the door and rake it in. Luckily we all complained and now it’s went to their main studio to do it properly but sadly after the success of the Lost Crown all we’ll get now will be spin offs no one asked for.

I would like a PoP Reboot tbh.
Non-open world, hence proper bleeding-edge visuals & details to cram into the smaller levels i.e amazingly crafted levels for satisfying platforming and new modern engaging combat system with proper lore-driven uniquely designed multiple weapons (non-randomly generated loot dropped weapons). Basically Warrior Within but much much better.
If Santa Monica, Sucker Punch. Respawn can do it .... why can't Ubi, who actually has done it before (will go far as to say kinda pioneered it)?
But alas, its the modern Ubi ... we'll get more stretched out open world AC RPG and FarCry RPGs, than more carefully crafted games.
🤬
(but i still wanna believe, if the new Ghost Recon rumor is anything to go by)

First Castlevania DLC and now this

Dead Cells was creative as hell and a really charming game, they should keep that creativity going with new IPs that they can call their own.

Next: Souls-like Prince of Persia from Gunfire Games or Hexworks

first emulation, now this
even though I don't play Garry's Mod, it is still bad

Inverno4d ago

I was reading it's all just false reports from a troll who's done things like this in the past and not Nintendo themselves.

-Foxtrot4d ago

Well the games creator Gary Newman confirmed it himself on Twitter.

Seems that's still being debated.
