Lol another glowing review that calls this game a "visual treat". I have played it on series x and ps5 and this game still looks like a up-res'd ps3 game. The buildings and grass textures in particular are horrible and they are using mostly the same animations from 10 years ago. I guess they will never update their engine or visuals when they still can do essentially nothing every year and get 8.5 scores and the same sheep to buy it year after year. I'm done until they lower the price to 20 bucks or actually put some real work in.

I am bummed out , that the Yankees are banging the final coffin nails to my Boston Red Sox season . But I am happy with the teams direction, as they are rebuilding. We now have a great leadoff hitter with Duran . Who currently has the 3rd highest WAR stat in MLB .

I liked the first Little nightmares, never played the second so this will be nice.

I’m not fussed about any of these games and to be honest I don’t think I even care. I spend more time reading about games on N4G or watching YouTubers talk about them. Yes, I’m getting older, yes my job takes up most of my time - but now I’m beginning to think I should take off my hat and hang up my spurs.

I know what you mean. I took a more relaxed approach to gaming 2 years ago. I've been more laid back and trudging through my back log at my leisure than anything else these days. And I find a lot of enjoyment in not trying to keep up with the trends. It's also far more affordable.

I also went big into boardgames and tabletop gaming in general as I found it easier to get my friends in for a game that way.

About the same boat here. I’m still interested in the hobby, but the predominant open-world game design today is just not my cup of tea. Barring a select few games in the past decade, I just can’t get myself to stay engaged for any game that is more than 10 hours in length. Why begrudgingly slog through crushing sameness for literal days (30-100 hour games), when I have an ever growing backlog of free games that I haven’t touched?

I miss the PS1 era of games that respected your time and asked for skill and the desire for replayability over mind-numbing fetch quests and padded game length.

I’m getting old and tired of where things have gone. TiredGamer I have become.

For me... I have been playing more on handhelds than the main units. And this includes using things like the portal, gcloud, evercade, steam deck and switch. i think it has to do with having a screen closer to my face makes it better for me. Plus I like to play more pick up and play games than ones where you have a learning curve to slog through before you really get into the meat of it.

I appreciate you all answering and giving some personal insights everyone.

@monkey602 It sounds like you've found a healthy balance and it's great that you can get together with your mates and you have that social element.

@TiredGamer I completely understand about the open world games. I mean when GTA III came out (shows my age) I loved it so much! It was an incredible city that was so exciting and felt so alive! Now, I have a library full of open world games that I think I want to play and so I install one and boot it up and then… it just seems like killing time performing tasks rather than living an adventure. ‘I’m getting old and tired of where things have gone. TiredGamer I have become.’ 🤣.

@darthv72 That’s interesting that playing handheld brings you closer, literally, to the games. I have thought about getting the PS Portal as the TV requires so much… commitment! I got into Dave the Diver for a while and that would’ve been great for playing in the bedroom. I’ve actually got a Switch and have never used it in handheld mode!

Thanks again everyone, I was probably just having a moment! There are a lot of games that are trending and perhaps I feel I'm missing out or not participating by not playing. I have been a bit consumed by my new job this last year. I think I just need to focus on the few titles I really want most.

I'd recommend Little Nightmares 2. The others? eh.

LG_Fox_Brazil25d ago

I'm playing Quidditch for the single player portion, if that turns out good I'll try the MP. Also, Little Nightmares 2 is pure gold

mastershredder25d ago

The Dust Collection, collection. .... Yet another one.

monkey60225d ago

I hadn't gotten around to getting Little Nightmares 2 so that's a win for me. No interest in the others
