Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth New Update Comes With More Performance Modes

Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth Update 1.020 is now available on the PS5, adding a new graphical option for performance mode. Here's how they look side by side.

Careful!
Gameplay mechanic Spoiler in the details.

Performance mode is more like blurry as hell I must be blind mode. No thanks

DarkZane417d ago

Performance mode always looked beautiful to me and the sacrifice in framerate wasn't worth the graphical upgrade I got in graphic mode.

Lionsguard417d ago

If you're playing on a 1080p monitor... Sure.. Otherwise on 4k, Performance is like playing with vaseline all over your screen.

It isn't that bad. It's noticable when you're stood still but playing, barely.

SyntheticForm417d ago

Just booted it up to test. Very unimpressed. Still looks awful.

SyntheticForm417d ago (Edited 417d ago )

Sorry, it still looks blurry and low res. I don't see any sharpening either. I'll live; just continue in Graphics like I've been doing.

Also, from the article:

"For those wondering how big of a difference the modes are, we did a very quick comparison of the two. We had to zoom into the image as the differences were very hard to notice."

Nor he not lying graphics mode looks a hell of lot better and it's a very smooth fps I tried both new performance modes the hit on graphics is to much

I'm just dying for a PC version. I really hope a PC version is released in the summer.

Eonjay417d ago

I think we have to wait a year plus, they need to focus on fixing this version before trying to port it.

andy85417d ago

Probably 2026. Remake took 18 months and this is bigger.

Tapani416d ago

They do have the porting framework ready this time, though. You are right, they do need to touch more aspects and optimize more, but I'm sure they can get it up and running on PC in no time and start working their way up from there.

i mean, weve been joking about this for a while now haha

they're gonna resell this trilogy for the next 20 years ha

but i wonder ... remake and rebirth already had to cut back on the psr4and ps5.

hows that gonna go on that inferior system?

andy855d ago

Steam deck runs it ok and the switch 2 is more powerful (docked]. Handheld mode will be the interesting one

PRIMORDUS5d ago

No physical release GTFO. This game deserves to be in your collection, not some digital shit.

raWfodog5d ago

I can definitely see them offering a boxed collection of the entire trilogy after it’s completed. Or at least it would be a smart thing to do if Square wanted to bring in more money.
